Sorry wasn't sure where to post this, getting married in a month, feel excited and terrified Grin

Any tips on what I should do/check/remember?
I've got a list of things still to do -email dj, try dress with shoes & accessories on..etc

I've got an itinerary of the day I know timings for the car pickups what happens in what order even down to where the bridesmaids will stand at the end of the aisle.

Guess I'm just starting to panic a bit that I've forgotten something. Might ring the registrar to confirm timing for their arrival etc

Any other suggestions please?

Have you got a "right-hand woman", like a maid of honour or a bridesmaid who you could "brainstorm" with, to make sure you've thought of everything?

I'm also getting married in a couple of months, and it's helpful to have someone to bounce things off/share the stress!

Would you be planning to do anything like eyebrow threading? I had that done a couple of days before my wedding.

Photographer timings? Making sure you’re on the same page for the type of photos you want taken, where they will be taken etc

Yes! I have a maid of honour and a couple of brilliant bridesmaids so I love the idea of sitting with them talking it through, that would also help on the day for one of them to know how it's running as a back up, and they might have some ideas of stuff I've forgotten.

Eyebrow wax and nails painting booked for the day before (my eyebrows don't go too pink so it's safe to do it that close, had a practice run!)

Photographer timings, good point he is going to ring us 1 week before to check what type of photos we want and if we want certain group photos taking, will have a think about what to say when he calls

Do you have a day manager? Our wedding was very DIY and a few things didn't go smoothly on the day because we really needed a third person overseeing everything.

So I'd spend this last little while going over all the tiny details with your day manager.

I forgot to paint my toenails....

And my hairdresser moved and didn't tell me but I got a better one 3 days before the wedding 😂
That was it. Absolutely everything else is done, don't freak.

My friend got married the other day. She went for a blow dry the day before the wedding, thought that was a nice idea. It'll be clean but not too new the wedding day.

Have a good solid think about whether you dp is someone to spend your life with. Whether he is the man you trust to play a full part in your children’s upbringing and respect you and them. Whether you’ve ignored any red flags and assumed things will get better. Whether he has drug, alcohol or gambling problems that will harm your family in the long term. Whether he is a man child who will spend his time playing computer games while you run the household. Whether he has been violent or abusive to you in this relationship. Whether he will consider you as property or as an equal. Whether his family behave in a way that makes you feel confident forming a permanent attachment to them as well as him. Whether he is financially responsible. Whether he is controlling. Whether he takes care of you when you need it.

I’m not putting this stuff here to be horrible, but because half of marriages break up, and it’s easier to unpick a planned wedding than to disentangle two lives several years down the line, particularly once children are involved. I’m also not being patronising: I’ve just been reading the relationships board. Ultimately, the wedding day itself doesn’t matter very much: it happens and then it’s over. The marriage and the relationship it’s built on is the important thing.

But in the spirit of what you’ve asked, think carefully about changing your name, particularly at work. If you do decide on this, there’s a bunch of admin with official documents.

Make sure that there are people who know what you want. You'd be surprised how many people will ask you (or your dp) things like 'where will I park my car', 'where will I put the gifts', 'where should I sit', 'is there somewhere I can leave my case'. You (and your dp) need to avoid all of this and have a standard answer "Ask Tom".

'Tom' should ideally be someone calm, competent and not someone in the wedding party who is needed for photos, speeches etc. poor Tom

There is no point in you having all the answers in your head. And on the day you just have let others get on with it. Sometimes a wedding couple try to micro-manage the professional staff when really they don't need to - the photographer, musicians, hotel staff will know how to communicate, when guests are to stand for the arrival of the bride etc. You don't need to worry about it.

Give your photographer a written list of the group shots you want and make sure someone has a copy to hand on the day. My photographer forgot my list and i couldn't remember all the shots i wanted when i was put on the spot.

Have an honest talk with your MoH and BMs what exactly you want them to do. A friend had issues as she thought they would help on the day, look out for issues with the hotel staff and the ladies thought after the ceremony their job was over and they partied.

We had my MIL on duty to keep us free from negotiating with the restaurant staff. She knew them, was local and is very good with these things. She also was great looking out for people during the drinks reception at the ceremony venue and making sure everyone had always a drink and helped clearing up.

The only other thing I really needed was a small bag with essentials for me, deodorant, lipstick, tissues, plasters, emergency nail tool, wet wipes. It was stached at the cloak room but easy to access for me when needed,

@Parsimon WTF 🤦‍♀️ No need to rain on her parade. My first Biscuit for you.

Are you having a buffet breakfast for when you’re getting ready? I just bought a load of stuff from Aldi for a continental breakfast and it was lovely.
