Is this grim?

Going to stay as neutral as I can...

An old dustpan and brush used to brush up food off the floor. Food deposited in bin. Dustpan and brush put in washing up bowl with water and utensils, cutlery and saucepans.

Thoughts?

I'm going with grim. My standards are quite low.

Crunchymum · 27/10/2019 22:04

Who the fuck washes up a dust pan and brush?

Crunchymum · 27/10/2019 22:04

And how big is your sink? Grin

Redact · 27/10/2019 22:05

Yes definitely grim eww

Butterflyjive · 27/10/2019 22:05

Proper grim.

louderthan1 · 27/10/2019 22:09

Fml I would be beside myself. And I've been known to pick up horse shit with my bare hands.

PickAChew · 27/10/2019 22:11

Beyond grim and just unnecessary.

NeverGotMyPuppy · 27/10/2019 22:11

Thanks everyone
DH did it. He cant see what's wrong with it. I'm so pissed off. And I'm so tired of having to act like the fucking health and safety police. I think my standards are pretty low - but come on...

Grim!

miaCara · 27/10/2019 22:13

The age of the dustpan and brush is a red herring if they are always washed after each similar use. In that case I wouldnt think it grim. Flipping a bit of food off the floor isnt the same as generally cleaning the floor.
However if they are general floor cleaning tools and rarely washed then it is very very grim indeed .

Lunafortheloveogod · 27/10/2019 22:13

Did he at least not put it all in at once n wash it last.. mine would Milton the bloody thing if it was used for a child but wouldn’t wash it in the same sink full.

AuntyElle · 27/10/2019 22:14

Taking floor shite and germs into the sink you clean eating utensils and crockery in. Grim.

NeverGotMyPuppy · 27/10/2019 22:14

Good point.

Tmit is rarely washed as ive never seen the need before. I rinsed it a while ago after sweeping something sticky but usually I dont - but then I dont put it in the sink.

I'm so angry. And I'm even angrier that I'm the bad guy here.

Nope. He just put it in the top. With all our stuffx including our 1 year olds cooking utensils.

Apparently I'm being hypocritical because I dont mind DS crawling on the floor.

NeverGotMyPuppy · 27/10/2019 22:16

Sorry- I meant 1 year olds cutlery.

Grim.

And that's coming from a household where the 5 second rule is rigidly enforcedConfusedGrin

SarahAndQuack · 27/10/2019 22:44

Very grim.

Unless he washes with scalding hot water, he's just given the floor bacteria a lovely warm bath in which to multiply. Same is true of utensils, too, though, which is why you should rinse under really hot water.

Sunflower20 · 27/10/2019 22:47

Grim. No doubt about it.

thaegumathteth · 27/10/2019 22:53

Definitely grim but also I've never thought to wash my dustpan and brush - is that also grim??? If it's visibly sticky etc I'd wipe it...

ComtesseDeSpair · 27/10/2019 23:57

I think it’s very much one of those psychological hang ups we fixate on: if the dustpan is only used indoors on clean floors, it’s probably much less dirty or bacteria ridden than a chopping board and utensils used for raw meat or anything else that’s been on the floor. But it still seems somehow disgusting even though not logical.

DramaAlpaca · 27/10/2019 23:59

Yes, grim.
