I'm making a pie that has a biscuit base. My tin is 23cm. How much butter/biscuits do I need? I never manage to get biscuit bases right Confused

I have no idea, but until someone else comes along have a bump in the form of an earworm: buttery!

You're welcome Grin

Half butter to biscuit so 300g biscuits to 150g melted butter. Works every time and I made a ton of cheesecakes.

I use those measurements for 20cm so I’d go 350g biscuit to 175g butter for 23cm.

A couple of big dollops. If that's not enough then melt a bit more. I never weigh biscuits or marge for a biscuit base.

I aim for enough to change the colour of the crumbled biscuits, but not enough to change the consistency too much. It should still be a bit crumbly when stirred in the mixing bowl, but hold together when pressed down in the dish.

Use gingernuts, so much nicer than digestives

Thanks everyone! I used shortcake biscuits as I hate digestives or any other 'oaty' biscuits like Hobnobs etc.
