How many Yorkshire puddings would you make?

Doing roast beef etc for 5 adults and 2 kids. I feel that a round dozen probably won’t be enough as DS is a big fan. No adult would want fewer than 2, surely?!

How many would you do for that number of people? I use a muffin tin.

About 50! Never too many.

Shannith · 27/10/2019 10:33

I do 4 for me and DD. Three for her, one for me.

Little heathen does not like roast potatoes so I get all of those.

24 without a doubt though. You'll be very popular!

Fatshedra · 27/10/2019 10:36

Make sure you do enough gravy - the more Yorkshire's the more gravy.

I would make about 250 as they will be eaten

Are you insane? Make it an even 500. Food of the gods

francienolan · 27/10/2019 10:45

If there is the chance to eat more than 2 at Sunday dinner I always do, but I'm not a big roast potato fan so Yorkshires are my carb of choice there!

rabbitsandrhubarb · 27/10/2019 10:50

I am cooking roast beef for 5 adults and 2 children today and will be making 24 yorkshires (thats all I have space in the oven for) and expect they will all be eaten, but if not, I shall eat the rest for my lunch tomorrow!

ChristmasSeacow · 27/10/2019 10:51

Right, I made mix for 24 but will probably make them a bit bigger so I’ll make 18-20. If there are any leftover DS will want them tomorrow!

It’s a special family birthday lunch so I need to make sure there’s no scope for disappointment.

I am amused to see feelings running very high though Wink. 250 GrinGrinGrin

One each, why more, empty calories and not very nice imho

Rockbird · 27/10/2019 11:03

stucknoue won't want one op, so only do 249 Grin

SingingLily · 27/10/2019 11:16

Rockbird 😂

Perhaps you should have titled your thread "How many Yorkshire Puddings would be too many?", ChristmasSeacow.

36

Winteriscomingfast · 27/10/2019 12:48

Plus dont use a muffin tin -they are too deep- get a proper tin or make it the yorkshire way- flat in the roasting tin,

SilverySurfer · 27/10/2019 12:48

Make sure there are enough left over to have with jam - definitely make 24

CakeNinja · 27/10/2019 13:09

Glad you’ve gone with more than 2 per person.
Family of 5 although ds doesn’t like them.
We make 12 for the 4 of us - big fluffy Yorkshire’s are just the best.

Thehagonthehill · 27/10/2019 13:18

I have proper round Yorkshire pudding tins, belonged to my gran.
We have 2 /3 each with gravey before the rest of the meal.

Thehagonthehill · 27/10/2019 13:19

I've never understood the concept of left ove Yorkshire pudding!

DisgraceToTheYChromosome · 27/10/2019 13:22

When Aunt Bessie did them in 16 packs, I'd do the whole thing. Delicious cold, either with a bit of salt or a smear of golden syrup.

ragged · 27/10/2019 13:52

I don't like them but when catering I would plan 2-3 per person I didn't know to be a non-eater.

Collision · 27/10/2019 22:31

I made the best Yorkshire pudding tonight but only 6 for the two boys as I’m being good

How many Yorkshire puddings would you make?
LBOCS2 · 27/10/2019 22:37

It would seem that my family are apparently extremely hard done by - I only ever really do two each, and they're not huge. Evidently I need to up my pudding game!
