Pulled my fingernail (Warning !! Mention of blood) - what do I do with it now?

Long story short I've currently got false nails on and I hit my little finger nail (by accident) really hard earlier today. It bent my false nail back and took my real nail underneath with it Confused

Aside from it being painful, it bled and I'm a wimp so I didn't really dare assess the damage, so I put a plaster around nail/finger. The false nail is still attached. My finger is still throbbing 12 hrs later Sad

Question is, what do I do with it now? I don't really fancy having acetone around it currently Confused does anyone have any advice/tips?

Ahhh I feel your pain (literally) as I am currently sporting 2 nails that are broken midway down the nailbed and any knock to them is fucking awful. Also the result of false nails.

DO NOT USE ACETONE. Omg, just don't. I didn't see that mine were broke til I had used acetone (ouch) and then stupidly thought I should do a gel manicure over the breaks to try to someone seal the break and hope it helped. It did not help. Instead it have me excruciating heat spikes under the UV lamp. So that plan was quickly aborted.

Maybe just keep it wrapped up and hope for the best. I've cut mine down short but the nails are fucked now and will definitely fall off soon.

All for a stupid set of acrylics. Never again.

*somehow.

Sorry, it's late.

Ahh thanks for your reply @UnderTheButtNutHut Smile I shall avoid acetone like the plague on your advice! I am also annoyed by this as I had only had the nails done the day before 😩

I think I'll keep it wrapped until I pluck up more courage...

@TheLolaMontez if you had someone do them for you then contact her and ask could she fix it, round here it's usually around a fiver to have them fixed or free within first few days.

I did them myself @UnderTheButtNutHut also I'm a huge wimp and I don't think I'd want anyone to touch it GrinConfused

I would cut the acrylic short so it doesn't catch on anything else and keep it clean/protected with a dressing until it stops hurting/heals/grows out a bit and you feel better about looking at/removing.

Any signs of infection visit your local pharmacy for advice.
