So today I am going to watch it! (i might skip the death)

Soaps
X factor and all other long dramatic pause and emotional trailer shows
Anything with Keith Lemon in
This Morning
Bargain Hunt and Antiques Road trip and the ones I hated the most were that one where the woman goes to the tip and makes stuff out of stuff she finds. I cannot stand the voice of the person who does the voiceover.

Any show where the people taking part have a mission, with a video diary. You know that it's going to seem hopeless in the middle of the show, but they'll suddenly crack it just before the end, or just about manage. Many episodes of Supernanny or Faking It were like that, and some of them looked blatantly scripted.

And does anyone remember Cilla Black's Moment of Truth? A family would be told (at length) of the fantastic prizes they would win, given a week to prepare for a very difficult task, such as memorising pi to 200 decimal places, which mummy would have to do in the studio. Any mistakes, and all the lovely things would be taken away, probably throwing in a few shots of the children crying for good measure. A friend of mine loved this show, but I refused to watch more than ten minutes of it.

Any sort of romance type thing where the couple end up together yawn/yuck - instead of both dying (like Romeo and Juliet) or tragically and or horribly separated (like cyrano de Bergerac or Betty blue) 😀

hardyloveit · 25/10/2019 21:01

@Gazelda me too re me and Mrs Smith and (as sad as this is) none of Jolies movies since! Can watch pre Mr and Mrs but not after haha

ginghambox · 25/10/2019 21:15

Soaps
"Reality" shows
Any film with Idris Elba, Will Smith and directed by Ken Loach ( except Kes ).

smemorata · 25/10/2019 21:23

Inglorious Basterds- couldn't get passed the first scene.

Mrsjayy · 25/10/2019 21:23

Loose women drives me up the wall when it first started it was different but now it is just drivel.

SamBeckett · 25/10/2019 21:27

@BanjoStarz , I have not seen the film warhorse but I read the book many years ago and saw the theatre production 2 years ago.
The theatre was fantastic once you have been watching it for a few minuets there is no way that the horse is not real !

But god its sad.

I will not watch clockwork orange mindless violence.

Mrsjayy · 25/10/2019 21:34

I watched clockwork orange when it went to ch4 in the 90s horrible film ill never watch it again!

MonsterBee · 25/10/2019 21:36

Watership Down. Cant even read the book anymore.

SamBeckett · 25/10/2019 21:38

I hate all soaps , over acting, crappy sets , and just way to much drama going on .
With all the murders , bombs, car crashes, affairs , and general skulduggery why would anyone want to live on that street/ square/ close/ .

And ALL the following can take a hike too reality tv , carboot / antique / recycle types , most cooking shows ( satuday kitchen is ok ) most comedy made after the 90s ..

The above list may explain why I don't have a TV Hmm

bluebell34567 · 25/10/2019 21:41

eastenders.

SamBeckett · 25/10/2019 21:44

@Mrsjayy I agree , it is about as far from entertainment as you can get , there is no way it could be made now ( thank god )

@MonsterBee I have seen the original and I wanted to see the remake but no one would go with me , I dont mind going to the flicks on my own but some films need company

Baloonphobia · 25/10/2019 21:49

Dragons Den. I just can't.

VanyaHargreeves · 25/10/2019 21:52

@wanderings

I remember that show

Bizarrely cruel on the children

They would be asked for biggest wish

It would be physically in the studio in front of them and they'd say

"Well you can't have it because Daddy/Mummy lost"

Talk about scarred for life Confused

wanderings · 25/10/2019 22:02

As a child, I used to be seriously annoyed by films of classic children's stories (e.g. The Secret Garden, Tom's Midnight Garden) which began with the main character as a grown-up, telling the story as a flashback.

motorcyclenumptiness · 25/10/2019 23:51

All soaps. The writing is universally shite.

Limaloma1 · 25/10/2019 23:54

White Squall. I read about the ending..what's the fucking point watching it.

AutumnRose1 · 25/10/2019 23:56

I had to stop watching Requiem for a Dream

I thought it was superb but I got as far as - well, must an addict really inject into the same spot every single time, you have other veins - looked up the ending and realised I'm too squeamish to actually watch the rest of it.

Scratchyfluffface · 26/10/2019 00:08

Anything that is filmed mostly in blue or sepia colours - the films just seem dingy and dreary, I immediately can't be bothered with them...

Zaphodsotherhead · 26/10/2019 09:26

Also all those cop/ambulance/truck driver/train driver/builder shows, which basically follows someone doing their day job.

There's only so many broken legs/mardy likely lads/'left hand down a bit, Ron!'/'and Michael has to wait for the plaster to dry before he can begin to paint' that I can stand. It's not entertainment, it's just moving wallpaper!

DeniseRoyal · 26/10/2019 09:33

I made the mistake of watching Sophie's Choice. I'm still traumatised 😭😭😭
