Pregabilin withdrawal?

I'm currently taking 600 mg of Pregabilin a day for anxiety. For various reasons (and reccomendations from other professionals) I am thinking of coming off it. Of course, I will discuss this with my GP and taper down according to their recommendations but whilst I await my appointment I wondered if anyone had any experience of coming off it?
How long did it take to come off and were there any withdrawal symptoms?

I was on 600mg per day and went cold - turkey. It was horrible. The worst aspects were the insomnia, restless legs and the itching for me; took about three - four weeks for that to calm down. Generally felt pretty awful for weeks and weeks with all sorts of different symptoms - sweats, shakes etc etc. Interestingly didn't affect my GI system at all, which is what many people find most difficult I believe.

Hopefully if you're tapering down then things will be very much better for you than they were for me.

I was on it for nerve pain after surgery and stopped cold turkey as I had no idea I would have withdrawal symptoms after being on it for a short time. The worst thing for me was restlessness, like restless legs but all over my body and I felt awful for a couple of weeks.

Good luck with it.

I forgot to say I had been on 600mg for about ten years or so, so a long time.

I took 200mg 3 times a day for a while for abdo pain. It took me quite a while to come off it. I dropped it by 25mg a dose a time every couple of days. It made me feel lethargic as I stopped and I found myself randomly bursting into tears! I work part time and found it better to drop a dose on my days off. I did feel better for stopping it though.

Thank you all for sharing. Definitely slowly and steadily then, really useful to hear about your experiences so I have some expectation of what is to come.

My dad was on Pregabalin for chronic pain. He is hand on heart the loveliest, kindest, sweetest man I've ever know. However, coming off Pregabalin, he turned into an utter, utter prick, no other way of putting it.

He smashed a massive mirror in a huge rage, his temper was so short. It was awful to witness him behaving like that, and was definitely withdrawals. Thankfully he got back to normal, but it felt like forever.
