Lip balms!

Could any of you recommend a lip balm that actually moisturises and soaks into the lips, please? I've tried a few, inc Vaseline, and feel like they just sit on top of the lips and don't help much. I've already got a split lip, and can't spend another winter like this :'(

Low-cost ones would be most appreciated, as I tend to lose them after a week or so!

I've just today bought Blistex intensive moisturiser following a thread I read on here earlier. I have permanently chapped lips and I'm sick of it. I'll report back if it's any good, it has a menthol smell but they also do a cherry one.

Burts bees here too.

ncqtime · 23/10/2019 15:56

Burt's bees, but watch the flavour some are better than others won't divulge my favourite but there are a few good ones. Not sensitive to these like I am carmex.

I bought something from aldi that's the 8 hour dupe. Made my lips so painful .burning . Lanolip is often on offer . I bought "hurraw" for dd . not cheapy cheap but very effective

Blister intensive moisturiser, my DH is having chemo and it's fucked up his lips and this is the only thing that's helped. We've been through about 20 different types so are practically experts now Grin. It's £1.99 in Home Bargains.

Dr PawPaw
One of my children suffers with lips that split open with dryness. This makes a huge difference

Epaderm! Not an actual lip balm but it works miracles on everything from split lips to eczema. Get the ointment, not the cream - its about £7 for an enormous tub that lasts literally about 2 years. Not glamorous but damn it works!!

Vaseline and Carmex will dry your lips more because they contain petroleum jelly.

Plain Nivea has always worked well for me.

Cheap as chips chapstick is what I can't live without on a daily basis.

But as others have said lansinoh or similar nipple ointment is brilliant for times of extra need.
