Are supermarket kids clothing any good?

I was wondering if the kids clothing in supermarkets are any good? Particularly, do they wash well and do joggers get bobbly?

They’re fine, the designs are not always as cute as H&M but they last equally as well. Perfect for nursery, because when they inevitably get stained or lost you don’t really care.

Sainsbury's is consistently good for basics. Younger kids stuff is quite cute, bit more hit and miss for older ones.
Got some excellent leggings recently from M&S, cheap plus multibuy offer with fun prints. DD wearing them on rotation.

Sainsbury's often do lovely things! Asda great as very cheap especially for nursery clothes where they just get ruined really quickly.

Yeah I get a lot from them and never have any issues. Sainsbury's and George are my favourite they do some lovely things.

Peterslee · 22/10/2019 14:22

I love sainsburys clothing my daughter has worn the 3 pack leggings and tops In Every size since she was born (22 months now) asda is a waste of time and it just falls apart. Tesco is okay but I only by sale items as they don’t wear as well as sainsburys. I can not recommend sainsburys enough especially the sleep suits they are brilliant.

ShinyGiratina · 22/10/2019 14:48

My DCs have been largely clothed from Sainsburys & Morrisons. Things have lasted well through both of them and only their favourites that literally get worn to death aren't really worth passing on afterwards.

ASDA is OK for t-shirts, but cut way too wide for bottoms. My DCs out grow the length years before they'd ever keep the waists up and they are average height.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 22/10/2019 15:06

I've found Asda children's jeans to be very good in the past.

holidays987 · 22/10/2019 15:09

Sainsbury's is good! And Tesco decent too. Have found Morrison's not to be as good quality.

stucknoue · 22/10/2019 15:18

They are all pretty good. Certainly fine for everyday use

Kerryleeh · 23/10/2019 09:20

I've found asda clothes are hit and miss for washing/ sizeing etc.
Tbh the best I've found are NEXT (even compared to clothes from Debenhams/ anywhere etc) and although may seem pricey, they have lots or multi deals and they seem to last much longer for my boistrous 3 and a half year old. Wash great and sizeing stays. So feel value for money is greatSmile

Stravapalava · 23/10/2019 09:29

I like ASDA clothes, although they do come up very big. Can't comment on joggers, but everything else washes fine. I wear shoes from there and they're always so comfy, plus they do half sizes - bonus!

Sainsburys are nice & good quality. Tesco I find are weird sizes, the necks seem too small and the sleeves too short sometimes, so always try on! I've not had much experience with Morrisons, only some nighties, but they went stiff & bobbly quite quickly.

CallarMorvern · 23/10/2019 09:31

Another vote for Sainsbury's. They have some lovely kid's clothes, sad that DD is too old for them now. Tu Adult clothes are good too, I like their jeans and always wear their no-vpl knickers.

BlingLoving · 23/10/2019 10:01

I think they're fine and we buy a lot from Sainsburys in particular but quality and sizing are erratic. DS has had joggers from there that (and jogger style shorts) which definitely wash and wear very well for a long time. Issues have been more around thinks like little cotton dresses for DD - quality can be a little disappointing. But to be honest, they're reasonably priced so we still buy them. And the thicker fabrics of their winter dresses have always been fine which is good as I think the mainstream stores options on warmer winter dresses are terrible in comparison with Sainsburys.

seeingasyouareclueless · 23/10/2019 10:06

Sainsbury's clothes are great, they do some really nice things that last and wash well. Asda done when they are completely still babies and can be quite cute, but the sizes come up small and don't wear well when they start moving, as in they get bobbly and anything more colourful than neutral fades in the wash.

seeingasyouareclueless · 23/10/2019 10:06

*done = fine

ChangeOfname4me · 23/10/2019 10:10

Agree with PP, Asda George has gone downhill in terms of the quality of their clothing. They are inconsistent at best.

I recently bought two pairs of joggers for ds from there. Very quickly one pair went horribly bobbly, while the other is still in great condition. Their school sweaters are made from poor quality fabric that tears and rips easily, though the school coats seem to be of reasonable quality.

Sainsbury's TU is no better IMO.

StinkGhoul · 23/10/2019 10:13

All the joggers I buy from everywhere bobble 🤷‍♀️

I buy all the twins nursery clothes from Asda as it will all get wrecked anyway. All their shoes come from there too, their first walkers range are amazing and such good value. Coats too.

I’ve found tesco to be worse quality than Asda.

IVEgottheDECAF · 23/10/2019 10:28

Next joggers never seem to bobble

Tweetingmagpie · 23/10/2019 10:35

I love sainsburys for kids clothes, well more baby and toddler, they’re definitely the best out of all the supermarkets, wouldn’t buy anything from ASDA (including food)

aintnothinbutagstring · 23/10/2019 10:40

Tu clothing is good (kids is anyway, women's less so I find), but wait for the 25% off sales.

penisbeakers · 23/10/2019 10:42

Yeah they're fine, unless you're a stuck up snob.

motortroll · 23/10/2019 10:44

I like ASDA, never had problems with wear. Also they tend to fit my broad shouldered kids!!
