How cheap can you furnish an entire house?

I am going to be moving into a new house soon and basically need everything. Does anyone have any tips on how to get things very cheap.

I am going to have a go at making as much as I can myself. I was planning on painting mismatched furniture and I have been given a sofa that I am going to have a go at recovering.

I have most of the things I need for DS’s bedroom as I bought them very cheap off Facebook market place.

I have had a look on gumtree but it is very disappointing in my area. I have been given quite a bit by family and friends.

Does anybody have advice on doing up a house on a budget? Has anyone else done it? What did you do first? What could you manage without?

With eBay check the delivery date closely, you don’t want to accidentally buy something with a dirt cheap price to find it actually ships within 1-2 months direct from China!

Free cycle, ebay, charity shops, look for discount codes each time you see something you like the look of, B&M, wilko, tk maxx sales etc. British heart foundation was great for us when we were renting and due our baby, we got sofa and chair for under 50, TV unit for 20 etc.
See if family have anything they are clearing out too

We moved into a new build and put money for new sofas and slowly got bits as we go. It's not done but it's certainly liveable and we focused on getting our daughters room and sitting room done first.
Kitchen only needed table and chairs to make it practical

Best advice is to do most important bits to you first like essentials or certain rooms.
Then little bits to make it homely can wait
Some people on YouTube do nice DIY tutorials too so could try making bits

Depends what style and what you want too but it's nice collecting things and really getting a feel of the place when you live in it for a while too..

I moved in my house with £200, free cycle was my friend. Also eBay and search for your nearest items.
