Any dentists out there? Wonky tooth question!

If there are any friendly dentists who could offer an opinion I'd be grateful!

Photo is of DD(5)'s teeth. Big tooth is coming through behind the tooth line, the baby tooth in front is still rock solid. She has a very narrow jaw - similar to my sister who had a terrible time with her teeth and years of orthodontisty, extractions, braces and headgear. My teeth were overcrowded and needed lots of work too but not quite as bad!

I've phoned the dentists asked if it needs looking at (ie whether taking the baby tooth out at this point might help?) - receptionist said she couldn't offer an opinion and I'd need an appointment. Loath to waste the dentist's time if anyone can confirm that it's unlikely anything would be done at this stage and I assume dentists don't go merrily tugging teeth out of five year olds without good reason, but don't want to miss the opportunity to correct it early on if that's possible. So just asking if this is a wait and see situation or something that can be acted on now? She only had her last check up a month ago - just before the tooth came through annoyingly!

I would maybe give it a little bit longer to see if the front tooth loosens as it can be quite common to get 'shark teeth' especially with front teeth at the bottom. Once the tooth loosens and comes out the adult tooth should move into position by itself

Dentist here. I wouldn't do anything at the moment other than monitor it. The baby tooth will become wobbly and come out. The adult tooth will either move more into alignment as the jaws grow or it will remain out of alignment and may need correction with braces but usually the orthodontist will wait until most adult teeth are through and baby teeth have been lost.
No harm going back to your own dentist though to get piece of mind.

Thank you both, that's reassuring! I've got my own appointment at the end of next month thinking about it so can always take another pic and wave it under his nose then for a quick opinion as to whether he'd need to see her but hopefully not. Baby tooth might have fallen out by then anyway!
