Any ideas on how to keep DS's feet dry while working as a lifeguard?

My DS is working as a lifeguard and has to wear trainers on the poolside. The shifts are quite long and he is spending a lot of time in wet shoes - the soles of his feet are becoming sore and starting to crack and peel.

I have searched for some sort of waterproof sock but not had any luck - does anyone know of anything that might help please?

If his feet get too hot/sweaty, he could try sports socks with Sealskinz socks over the top, then trainers. I wear hiking boots like this and my feet are dry but not sweaty.

Trainers seem daft, presume if he needs to rescue someone he won’t have time to take them off and then he can’t swim as fast with them on

Presumably trainers are more stable fir walking round the poolside.

Every pool I have worked at you wear trainers. You need to be able to move fast & have your toes protected. Sliders are a def no. Anyway look for lightweight trainers that have as thick a sole as possible which raises you out of the splash zone. Maybe 2 pairs in case one gets soaked but I really haven’t ever had much of a problem. Maybe he needs to work in a less splashy way 😂

I came on to suggest sealskinz too www.sealskinz.com/socks/walking-thin-ankle-socks-black-grey-marl.htm

If its trainers because of grip on the floor can he not wear trainer sandals? They look 😎

Isn't this a health and safety issue? Could he raise it with his manager and see if they can suggest anything?
