I don’t know how to keep my daughter entertained

She’s 16 months. Screams half the day. I don’t know how to keep her entertained. She’s always been really really hard work right from the start. She’s so active and doesn’t stop for one second.

It goes without saying, I love her so much. But I’m considering putting her into nursery full time as I don’t know how to cope with her behaviour.

Is it just this hard or is there something wrong with me or my daughter?

She’s currently screeching in the kitchen and I’m sat in the living room because I can’t take it anymore.

It might be worth keeping a diary for a few days to record what % of the day she is actually crying. It might reassure you, or give you evidence to show to a HV that "this is excessive".

I frankly got a bit desperate when my two were 3 (neurotypical, highly strung) and 1 (autistic). I literally felt that going back to work saved my sanity. I also read up on Montessori and stripped back their toys immensely. I put a few things on open shelves, packed the rest away, and rotated things. It might be just my imagination but it seemed to calm DS down and he played so much more when he had so much less.

I also banned TV for an entire week (I know! But I was desperate) and then reintroduced it at certain times only. He'd got totally obsessed with it and would scream whenever it wasn't on. We set a rigid rule he could understand and he stopped tantrumming for it. There was a bit of an adjustment period...!

Surely at 16 months she’ll potter round with whatever toys are out? Mine is a couple of months older and has spent the last half hour going round the floor with a brush. Before that he was pushing a bus along the back of the sofa and exploring the contents of the tupperware drawer.

Well clearly not, otherwise op wouldn't be bloody well posting about it would she?
Do you get that babies/toddlers are all DIFFERENT?
