Don't know what to do with 3 month old all day everyday

I'm just struggling to entertain my 3 month old all day and I'm finding we're both getting a bit frustrated. Up until lately we'd just spend the day cuddling, napping, or he'd be on his play mat/in his bouncer. He seems to want more entertainment than that now, I've bought him a jumperoo but he's still a bit too little. He seems to get frustrated quickly and I'm worried he wants to do more than he's doing, but I just don't know how to fill the days.

Any tips? We go out for a bit but it's rained solidly for the past 3 weeks and I'm getting cabin fever.

Get a rain cover for the buggy and go out anyway?
Swimming?
Any baby groups near you? He's very little but might enjoy the change of scene, and it's company for you.

At that age I’d go to a baby group most day - swimming/sensory/massage or just meet other mums for coffee. Good coat and a raincover and go for walks. Visit museums, galleries, stuff you want to see. Go to baby friendly cinema showings.

Out in the sling with an umbrella, they love the noise and looking at the rain. Otherwise groups, coffee shops, anywhere but home is usually a hot when they are restless at home. Make the most of them being entertained by small things Smile

You’ve just got to get out. Go in the car if it’s raining. You’ll probably find if he has a trip out a day you’ll get more cuddling/ napping time when you are home

From as early as possible I made sure to go out every day with ds, for my sanity as much as keeping him occupied! We used to do a massage class one day, a library group, a childrens centre group, (then when he was a bit older) swimming then on friday a nice walk to a cafe for lunch. Sensory rooms are brilliant too (or as it's getting xmassy to-go to a local Range and take him through the lights tunnels!). We did a lot ofl unch dates when he was a little older and I'd met a good group of mums at things, babies slept and we chatted.

Ds loved looking up at the trees so I would bundle him up and go for a decent walk (treating myself to a cake and cuppa half way).

Otherwise he really liked his play gym, and sensory toys, you can get coloured scarves cheap and he likes watching me wave them at him.

Do you have friends with babies? I used to meet up with friends with babies, take it in turns to go to each other's houses. Baby and toddler groups - two a week - and visit parents. That was usually plenty to be honest.

Trains, Xmas lights, garden centres, museums, just out and about in general. Even the supermarket x

With both of mine I went to a toddler group every morning because I was the same . It's boring at home .. I would then come home do lunch and they would have a sleep while I tidied up ( watched tv ) and then went for a walk it sinusitis in the afternoon .

As suggested above. Baby Sensory groups, library rhyme time, swimming class.

Going for a walk whatever the weather.

Getting him weighed.

Meeting friends.

Play nursery rhymes on YouTube to sing to.

My local theatre has a bring your baby comedy sessions once a month.

I sometimes go in the car wash as I’m bored and it gets a job done! Same with food shopping.

Card shopping for the next few months using sling and show him them?

I try to just chat about what I’m doing when getting on with housework and show him stuff to look at or touch.

I look at very simple black and white books with him from the library.

He likes his rattle now. I’ve got a few lentils in a small plastic bottle.

Tummy time.

I also do a circuit of playmat, buggy (lie flat one to sleep), bouncy chair, tummy time, sling, in my arms and repeat! Looking forward to adding jumperoo in the mix! Grin

Maybe time to take him shopping and get cracking on Christmas presents?! (scraping the barrel!)
