UTI while in England for weekend away- what can I do?

These can be fairly recurrent for me. Progress quite quickly, blood in urine, very painful etc etc

In Scotland, where I’m from, pharmacists can prescribe antibiotics for UTIs now so even on a Sunday you can get treatment if you find a Boots etc opened in, for example, a shopping mall.

What can I do while I’m here? I don’t think this can wait until tomorrow, when I think about how they usually progress/ the usual timeline of things Sad

You can get over the counter meds at any Boots. Not antibiotics, you need to see a go/nurse for that.

There should be a walk in centre or minor injuries nearby. 111 might be able to point you in the right direction.

Walk in centre would be your best bet - they have nurse prescribers and will mean you wait less than either OOH GP or A&E.
Hope you feel better soon.

Ring 111. They will either let you speak to a clinician or can arrange an out of hours appointment for you. I hope you feel better soon. Smile

Oh thank you! I was hoping for at least one reply to point me in the right direction. Will phone 111. Ugh, feeling so so horrible Sad

Or try this https://diputi.com/

Used this service recently - was quick and easy and saved a long wait at the walk in centre.

Hope you feel better soon.

I googled out of hours services when I got tonsillitis in Somerset.

Another vote for 111, they can fax a prescription to a pharmacy for you.

Thank you so much to all who responded! There was a minor injuries clinic 5 minutes drive away. I was there as they opened the door at 8am and back out with antibiotics in hand by 8:20am. Amazing. Felt much better within a few hours even and could at least take part in the rest of the weekend.
