I’ve been approved for surgery next week - completed all my final checks and tests today. I’m nervous even though I’ve wanted it for a long time. Anyone had one or in the process/system?

Good luck, I wish you well and a speedy recovery.

Can I ask how long you have waited and are you happy to say how many sizes down you are hoping to go?

I had my dd at the doc this week to make first enquires on a reduction, just info gathering and starting a 'record's if you like. I don't think the doctor really knew what to say.

Thank you!

I’m a 30 gg and the criteria to qualify is a bmi of 26 or below, non smoker and must gave a minimum of 500g off each breast.

I had one! Best thing that ever happened to me. I got my balance back, could wear normal clothes, could run. Not a bad word to say about it.

Good luck!

not on the nhs, had mine about 6 months ago. wonderful no regrets.
you'll be fine.

Ginfordinner · 19/10/2019 00:00

A friend of mine had one, and was delighted with the result. Unfortunately, over the years, they have grown back.

FuckyNel · 19/10/2019 07:15

Well hopefully mine won’t grow back! Smile

WIshing you lots of luck! I had one at 16, best thing I ever did. Because of my age, they did grow (I was told that would happen). But I’m now in proportion Grin. Hope you recover quickly x

Had one and it was the best thing ever. Was the same size as you and ended up a D cup. Was hoping forC and would in hindsight go for B..as since having kids and getting fat they've started to grow. If I lost weight perhaps they'd reduce too. But still, I'm proportionately very different now than I would have been pre op with the same weight gain.

I have less sensitivity in my nipples than before but I didn't have that much then anyway.

Never regretted it for a second. Only regret was not having it when I was younger.

These stories are good to read, my dd15 is a 30 g she wants rid but I'm not sure if she's too young and they'll grow back.

You'll have to let us know how you get on Nel

Had NHS op done back in 2001. Went from Ron 36F to a 36D now. Sacred have faded massively (see if they can give you some silicon gel strips to put on them to aid healing). They just feel normal to me now, was much better for sports and clothing afterwards - can buy cheap supermarket bras rather than expensive ones.

I occasionally wonder whether I should have embraced them and not had it done, DH never knew my old boobs! Had them done at 25. My main disappointment was seeing them for first time afterwards and realising they were same shape as old boobs, just smaller. I think I'd got it on my head that they'd be some Hollywood style & perfectly rounded. Was only fleeting and the pros massively outweigh the cons.
Good luck, hope your recovery is smooth

Katkincake · 20/10/2019 01:56

Oh god typos - can't sleep. Don't know where Ron came into it and 'scars' not sacred!!

FuckyNel · 21/10/2019 11:56

Thanks for all the replies!

Bought 3 sports bras 32b,c and d to take with me on the nurses advice. I tried the c cup one on Shock can’t believe my boobs will ever fit!
