Any tips on managing poor circulation?

Just that really!

I've had poor circulation for years but in the past year my health has declined massively and now due to limited mobility I am practically the Ice Queen Sad brrrr!

I'd love some recommendations for cosy socks, thermals/under armor type stuff, ways to boost circulation without having to do too much (I use a wheelchair if that makes a difference) gloves/hats/scarves, jackets, waterproofs etc. I am quite petite at 5'2/8.5st/size 4-6children's age 11-12 yes I wear kids clothes and will take recommendations of those too if you have any that aren't obviously for kids

I live rurally in the central belt (Scotland) and it gets very cold and snowy soon, I'd like to get prepared ASAP and have the money ready to burn pun intended but cannot feasibly go to the shops so will have to order online.

Thank you!!! FlowersCakeBrew

Marks and Spencer do these heat socks that are amaaazing. I'd check there :)

Are you able to get your hands on any Kari Traa socks? They're easily the warmest socks I've ever had, and I live half way up Norway :) www.karitraa.com/en-gb/rusa-wool-sock-2pk/611131.html?dwvar_611131_color=DEN&dwvar_611131_size=39-41

When it comes to wool underwear don't buy sports thermals or anything that isn't actually wool. Sports thermals and synthetic thermals will only keep you warm if you're moving. Merino wool is the best, then layer it up. At least two layers on your legs and three or four on your upper body should do the trick.

Most important though is to keep your head and neck warm, I freeze so much faster without a good hat that covers my ears and is tight enough to not let the cold air in. Slouchy hats can sadly be too baggy to keep you effectively warm in the worst of the cold.

If you can find Darn Tough Merino socks they are brilliant

Do you suffer from Raynauds ? Lack of blood to finger toes ears etc causing them to go white and losing any touch sensation.
When you do warm up it burns / tingles / buzzes it can be painful and it's easy to burn / cut yourself and not realise.
If this is the case Niacin may help as it is high in vit B , it helps to keep open the small capillary veins . DO NOT take if you are on blood thiners.

No I don't think I have Reynaud's, my extremities do get very cold but don't go white. I have a neurological condition and my temperature regulation seems to be off kilter, I am often very cold but then if I get hot I am sweltering within minutes, although it doesn't last.

Thanks for the suggestions, keep them coming! Grin
