Healthy snacks secondary school

My Ds takes medication which means he eats very little during the day .

He then eats a large tea when meds wear off but is hungry all evening .

He isn’t a fussy eater particularly but looking for ideas that are filling and not sugar laden.

Will he take boiled eggs? I don't know whether that's acceptable or not at school. Or protein muffins. I try off some mushrooms, onions, add a few frozen peas, sliced ham and put into muffin trays with some grated cheese and then add scrambled eggs on top and bake in the oven. They're great snacks.

Protein bars? I make some lovely protein balls which, whilst they're made with a bit of honey, are overall quite good and taste nice too so don't feel like a hindrance to eat like some protein bars.

Banana muffins made from oats instead of flour?

Thank you .

He would love the muffins .

I do make banana muffins shall look up recipe with oats instead.

It is more for a home than taking to school . He is just hungry from not eating a lot all day.

Muffins / cakes made with vg are good. I think the sort of things you get for breakfast in Holland and Germany work well as snacks, ham, cheese, some bread, eggs, tomatoes (cherry ones make a good snack size).

Vegi sticks and hummus.

Samosa are not exactly healthy but freeze well so for an occasional treat would be OK, but get proper ones from a sweet centre.

I have a relative who is badly lactose intolerant so she makes a batch of kedgeree and freezes in small pots. For breakfast she microwaves a pot from frozen.
