Before anyone starts, I've called 111 and I'm awaiting the call back. If anyone has read my other threads I'm having a shit time currently so be gentle.

Had to pick DS 3yrs 10months) up from nursery due to fever. Got home, made him a bed up on the sofa, took temp, grabbed calpol. There was no syringe in the box so walked in to the kitchen to get one of the spares, came back in the living room to find DS with the calpol open. Smelled his mouth and he's clearly had some. He's going from saying he didn't, to he had a little bit, back and forth. So I've no idea. The bottle was used and now has around a third in, I've no idea how much it had in originally but certainly wasn't full. I'd hazard less than half full.

Arrrrggghhh just what I don't need!

Oh op don’t feel too guilty. These things are easily done. If it helps make you feel better o accidentally read the piriton instructions and gave my ds a full 24 hour dose in one! And I’m a trained nurse! Oops!

My DS did almost exactly the same thing at the same age. Friends I've told have been totally shocked because I'm not the sort of parent to let that happen, apparently Hmm, so it can happen to the best of us. Grin

Long story short, we were advised to go to A&E, who sent us home with no treatment. They said if he'd been an adult he'd have been admitted. There have been no long term affects 13 years later as far as I know.

He still loves "baby Calpol" thoughHmm

They won’t blood test for four hours after taking paracetamol so if anyone needed to take a child to hospital there is no reason to go straight away. All that would happen is you would sit in A and E for hours waiting for the blood test to be taken.
