Any dental peeps about? Tooth question

Hi. I had a tooth filled this morning and it still feels quite sore and sensitive - is this normal? I haven’t had any work done on my teeth for years (thank god as I’m terrified of the dentist), so I’ve forgotten what it should all feel like. My teeth are very sensitive at the best of times, so I’m hoping this is normal and my teeth/tooth will settle down in the next day or two. Weirdly it didn’t hurt when I brushed my teeth this evening (electric toothbrush), but when eating (hot dinner) is gave a protesting twinge every so often when hot food hit it. The thought of having to go back is giving me the willies tbh. Thanks in advance from dental-phobic MrsWicketGrin

I’m not a dental person by a long stretch, but I also had a tooth filled this morning and mine is sensitive too but less to do with temperature and more when I bite down on it. I think it is normal and from what I remember from previous fillings, it will take a few days, or maybe even longer, to settle down completely.

I had work last week and was told that both injections and work cause bruising and it can take up to ten days to settle down.

It depends what you mean by sore.

Are you lying on the sofa with a hot water bottle and counting the hours until you can take your next pain killer ?

Or are you aware that it’s a little more sensitive than your other teeth when you have a hot drink ? But when you are not thinking about it, it’s fine.
