What do you wear when you work at home?

I know this makes me sound like an incompetent idiot!

My job is a real mixture of out and about, office based and wfh. About once a week I am at home all day and I can’t seem to work out what’s comfy. If I stay in my PJs or very comfy clothes, I don’t feel productive. If I wear what I would wear for work I feel uncomfortable and over dressed, even though it is a fairly casual dress code.

Interested in what others wear when wfh.

Jeans and shirt and jumper - I have to walk the dog so I need to be semi presentable.

WhoisitnowRalph · 13/10/2019 22:35

Normal clothes - skinnies and a loose fitting top, chuck a jumper and slipper boots on if it's a bit chilly.

I always get showered and dressed properly, brush my hair and put it up as I might have to open the door to the postie, or nip to the shops etc - nothing puts you on the back foot more than not being properly dressed, but casual attire is fine. I certainly don't bother with make up.

Just about to start working from home full time.
My plan is to wear leggings and henley shirts and to put a skirt on over the top when leaving the house.
I know that if I plan anything at all uncomfortable I will end up in pyjamas or tracksuit bottoms.

Pjs and a dressing gown. Lots of calls but no video calls.

ChipsAreLife · 13/10/2019 22:52

Loads of video calls so a fairly smart top of jumper, light make up and brushed hair. On bottom joggers or workout leggings!

If I don't have calls I'm full track suit and no make up

HoldMyLobster · 13/10/2019 23:03

I'm doing well if I get out of my PJs. I have a couple of extra warm jumpers I wear in winter, and I have a fluffy blanket I often tuck around my lap. I also often wear Uggs over wool socks. I do live in a quite cold area...

BackforGood · 13/10/2019 23:19

If I'm home all day, then it will just be jogging bottoms, t-shirt, hoodie, slippers, etc Too mean to put the heating on

Might as well be comfy - can't see how it makes anyone less productive - if anything, being comfortable, would, I'd have though make you more productive.

I often work from home on a Friday which technically means I could get away with not leaving my house from about 7pm on Thursday night (when I get home from work) to about 12pm on Sunday (if I can avoid doing anything outside the house on Saturday) but, as much of a recluse as I am, it’s not good for my mental health so I force myself to get showered and properly dressed on Fridays, and go to a local cafe for breakfast.

I’m inherently lazy so run the risk of spending the whole time in a PJ top, leggings, and not brushing my hair properly unless I force myself.

Friday just gone, I wore a casual dress over black tights and black ballet pumps. Hair was freshly washed and dried. I didn’t put on make-up, though I normally would.

I love working from home about theee Fridays a month, but wouldn’t be cut out to do it full time.

I can't work in pjs. I make sure I get dressed before going downstairs and wear jeans, tshirt and cardi.

CloudsCanLookLikeSheep · 14/10/2019 00:31

Leggings and a top. I have done the shirt over pjs trick for video calls. Thank god I never had to get out of my chair!

ThighThighOfthigh · 14/10/2019 00:43

Leggings, t-shirt, cardy, slippers, brushed but hair.

Blankiefan · 14/10/2019 06:03

Whatever is casual and cosy. Joggers and a t-shirt/ cardi.

I put a little base on but not real make up and a pony tail.

We also conference call a lot - I have a smart poncho that I chuck over my top if it's not someone I'm pally with.
