Breast pump advice

Hi
I'm expecting sometime this month (CS date to be given on Monday). I used the medala electric pump last time but found it v noisy (until it stopped working) and will no longer have a spare room to express in! Are there any reliable but quieter electric pumps that people can recommend. Previously I have had to mix feed so am hoping an earlier start with a pump will help with milk supply. Also, should I take fenugreek as soon as baby is born?

Thanks v much.

Can you afford to rent the hospital grade pumps? Medela one is very quiet, it’s like a whisper, and as it’s a double really would help with supply.

Hadn't looked into renting - could be a possibility

I have and like this one

www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07F2C2V6X/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_2PJODbRVRS8KT?tag=mumsnetforu03-21

I read the recommendations on the article on here when I wanted to switch from the Medela Swing my friend leant me. Worth a look but I couldn’t afford the ones with the best reviews so hit up amazon and this is affordable and quiet and I really like it. It charged with a usb so you’re not tied to sitting by the socket. As it’s amazon you can return it if you don’t get on with it.

I’d also recommend the haaka, which is magical, cheap, easy to clean, silent and perfect for popping on the boob you’re not feeding from.

Thanks. Ideally I'd like to have one where I can do it in front of the tv without disturbing everyone. Is this quiet enough for that?

Hi I exclusively express fed my daughter for the first 3 months and I used the lansinoh double electric pump really easy to use and clean, it can be used with a plug or batteries and it's quite too, I used to pump in the bedroom at night and my partner wouldn't hear it at all Smile

If you can afford it, the Elvie is an amazing pump. It has transformed breastfeeding and pumping for me. I pump at work in meetings, whilst walking round, on playground duty etc etc. It's small and virtually silent. Gives you slightly Dolly Parton boobs but I just wear a bigger size top and it's fine.
