What’s the name of the bone/muscle

Between your collar bone and the top of your breast please? I’d say it’s my chest but don’t know if that’s the correct name. Thanks. I’ve hurt myself. In agony but not sure if it’s bone or
Muscle.

Underneath the clavicle (collar bone)
The sternum is central & ribs come off that. Between the ribs are the intercostal muscles. Maybe you have pulled a muscle? Or worst case cracked a rib?
Go to GP or A&E if really bad.
How is your breathing?

Thanks very much for responding.

Short and a bit shallow. Too painful to take a deeper breath or yawn. It’s not central. It’s at the top of my right breast heading up towards my
Collar bone. It’s also heading down my arm and into my shoulder blade.

Pectoral muscle?

TreesSandSea · 11/10/2019 22:18

Did you have an accident? Pain into your a sounds like nerve involvement

Or have you been suffering a bad cough, cold or similar. Pleurisy can present with right sided chest pain

Allycumpooster · 11/10/2019 22:21

There are several structures in that area that hurt like hell when you pull/ strain them. It’s because it’s your chest/rib cage and that protects some vital organs so we tend to be hypersensitive to injury there.
Unless you have had some fairly severe trauma (car crash/fall) it’s unlikely to be serious, just painful.
It’s the pectoral muscles that I think you are referring to, though it could be your ribs

Thanks.

No accident or trauma and no cold.
Its pretty sore but have had some more paracetamol and will get some sleep. Had to get DH to help me take my bra off.
