I need a new cooker

Mine is on it's way out and I can't decide whether to get a duel fuel one or an electric one 😩.
Electric would be easier to install. Last time I got a duel fuel cooker I had to have an electrician and a gas engineer both to install their bit

I've always had a duel fuel cooker but have heard the new induction hobs behave like gas?
But then dd had an induction hob for a while and hated it. And then there's ceramic.

What sort do you have and what sort would you have in an ideal world?

We went for all-electric as we needed one fitting the day before Christmas Eve. I'd prefer a gas hob but we had one for 2.5 years and my husband never got the hang of it. He likes induction (we have a small one we used when had no cooker) as t is so responsive. My must-have is to have a double oven and I like easy to clean the doors.

I loved my induction hob. I moved to a place with a gas hob and will be having an induction hob again as soon as we put a, new kitchen in. The gas is more difficult to use and the hob always needs cleaning. So difficult to clean it. The induction hob was easy to clean.

What makes the induction hob better than a ceramic one?

I was under the impression it only worked when the pan was on it. So if you shook the pan, for example, it would turn itself off? I'm not sure that wouldn't drive me mad

We had to have our gas diconnected (new oven was a different shape so the gas pipe got in the way) so went for an induction.

It is amazing, much more responsive. Yes if you shake the pan (though it's advised not to scrape over the glass) the hob temporarily goes off ...or the signal shows 'U' on ours but as soon as you put the pan down it connects again so it's not like you have to switch it on again. So in practise this isnt a problem

The only issue we had was the glass being chipped by a glass workyop saver sliding into it

We have the induction range that Tiddy had in black and it's great. The heat is instant with induction. I can boil a pan of water quicker than the kettle.
