Washing needs doing and shopping isn't due til later on.

Eh, wait..? 😕 If you have washing powder arriving in your online shop later, what difference does it make if you put the machine on now or later? Both will be clean and dry tomorrow.

picklemepopcorn · 11/10/2019 08:03

Don't risk using anything else like washing up liquid etc. You could use bar soap on stains and smells and then wash without detergent.

Mrsjayy · 11/10/2019 08:03

Wait on the shopping what else is there to use?

horse4course · 11/10/2019 08:05

Just use water, there will be soap left in machine from last wash

Unless it's heavily soiled it'll do fine

Think how much soap foam comes up in a service wash

Mrsjayy · 11/10/2019 08:06

Some posters will be telling you to grate soap or go down to a stream Grin but honestly load the machine and walk away do something else and just wait on your delivery.

MeanMrMustardSeed · 11/10/2019 08:07

Agree with PP, there will be soap residue in t machine - enough to wash a load unless it’s a rugby kit!

insancerre · 11/10/2019 08:08

I would just wait
The washing doesn’t need doing now

Iggly · 11/10/2019 08:08

Surely you just wait 🤷🏻‍♀️

PenelopeFlintstone · 11/10/2019 08:08

Yep, water will work if not very dirty. I’ve squirted in a tablespoon of eucalyptus dog wash before, just because it was handily in the laundry room. Nothing bad happened.
Try a bit of body wash but only a tablespoon to avoid too many suds stopping your machine.

PenelopeFlintstone · 11/10/2019 08:10

I’ve used washing up liquid in the dishwasher too, which everybody screams that you can’t do. It worked fine, didn’t have any problem about a tablespoon.

PrincessHoneysuckle · 11/10/2019 08:11

Tiny bit of zoflora and fabric conditioner works in emergencys

Alwayscheerful · 11/10/2019 08:12

I always treat stains with fairy liquid. Treat any stains and wash using only water, use white vinegar instead if fabric conditioner.

Spanglyprincess1 · 11/10/2019 08:14

Get those soap balls in the future... Never need deturgent again and way better for the environment

greenlynx · 11/10/2019 08:21

You could use a little bit of shampoo ( the simpler the better, baby shampoo is good). You could also wash it by hand with soap and cold water, then leave it to soak, then wash in the washing machine without anything, more like a big rinse. It very much depends on what you need to wash: bedding or cashmere jumper.

Bin85 · 11/10/2019 08:29

Ask a neighbour if you can borrow some

redchocolatebutton · 11/10/2019 08:29

if it's really really urgent you can just use nothing.

Lowlandlucky · 11/10/2019 08:30

Use soda crystals

cjt110 · 11/10/2019 08:31

Buggar. Wait on the shopping it is then...

I like to get the bed linen off, washed, dried and back on in a day. We dont have a tumbler or outside line so it has to dry in the house... takes a day

PenelopeFlintstone · 11/10/2019 09:23

Annoying.

insancerre · 11/10/2019 13:10

Never mind washing powder, you need more bedding

manicmij · 11/10/2019 13:50

Unless massively dirty and stained water wi do fine. Give it a longer wash if you are doubtful.

mumwon · 11/10/2019 13:55

looks outside - no way we can put washing out at the moment - where in the uk is it NOT raining/about to rain/just finished raining

mumwon · 11/10/2019 13:55

ps (aldi & asda do cheap bedding)

RB68 · 11/10/2019 13:57

I don't have a tumbler but do have a range oven so thank fully can dry stuff on that but still takes overnight minimum.

Just have dirty bedding an extra day

OliviaCharlotte1719 · 11/10/2019 14:02

Soda crystals and white vinegar would do the trick if you have any 😊 x
