What top tips do you have to make the most of a visit to Science Museum in London? Kids age 10 and 7. I'm aware there are existing threads but I've found there is outdated info so looking for up to date stuff.

My advice would be don't bother unless you are going to pay for the hands on stuff. Mine live science but they were bored. Natural history is fantastic tho.

Thank you

(Used to be) great for little ones, but very techy and not of interest for my (then) preteen last time we went. Mine prefers the British museum or, if general culture seeking, Tate modern more interesting for her.

I took my 3 year old DS in the Wonderlab and he loved it, we spent about 3 hours in there.

It's great for a range of ages as well not just small children.

The Wonderlab is by far the best part, but we liked the space gallery too.

Its good but crazy busy. Natural history is next door. My favourite section (and less busy usually) is the earth science section.

All the museums are busy to be fair, never going back to the British museum after last time, queue was an hour to get in and you couldn't see anything because of the crowds

Go and pay and go to the wonder lab - go early and make the most of the live shows and experiments, it’s very interactive! (It’s roughly is approx £7 per child and maybe £10 per adult - if you will go to London on a semi regular basis it could be worth getting the annual pass)

If you go on the ground floor right at the back, there is a small interactive section and all about the body etc

If you early you can can go and see what shows are on (imax experience/bubble shows etc) it’s when you go in, your go down a ramp and there is a desk with some members of staff there who are helpful with what shows will be on at what time, they are normally paid however.

Personally I much prefer the science museum with children!
