Have name changed in case anyone knows me.. don't want everyone knowing about my "moisture" issue Blush
For at least six months I've been having alot more discharge, I have to wear a liner every day and change it once I get home from work. I can feel when I get a little gush and its alot more than I used to get. I only had discharge mid cycle and then only for a day or so.
I've been to the Dr and had swabs taken a d results are normal. It doesnt smell offensive or itch.. theres just ALOT more of it!!
Has anyone got experience of this?
I've googled and I seem to just get info about pregnancy excess discharge or thrush etc

If there isn't any infection , it sounds like you're fine. Just more discharge than you are used to. I wouldn't worry about it.

AnyMinuteNow · 11/10/2019 03:16

I see you didn't have a problem with registering your preferred nn Grin

The only thing I can think of, as you've already been swabbed, is over-washing.

This will cause over-gushing! Blush

The more you wash to clean it up, the more it produces.

If you think this might be the case, just leave yourself alone for a while to settle. Don't use soaps.

I don't know the name for it, but try a search.

I once saw a tv programme where this was discussed with a gynecologist, he said it was perfectly normal for some women to produce much more discharge than others and there was a reason for such a market in panty liners. I am the same now as you and if I don't wear a liner feel my knickers are wet within a couple of hours, this wasn't a problem until my forties. I don't think there's a relationship between how much you wash as I shower the same as before.

AnyMinuteNow · 11/10/2019 07:35

don't think there's a relationship between how much you wash

But there is, like I said. I can't recall the term for it, but it very much is the cause for some, ans can be fixed.

It can also indicate other problems, so should always be checked.

Soggyundercarriage · 11/10/2019 10:06

I don't over wash.. just shower as normal.
It's a bit worrying as it seems like so much so I may go back to the doctor.
I'm 41 if that makes any difference so maybe my body is changing

It's quite normal for bodies to change as we get older. This is probably just that if there's no smell or infection! It's annoying but so are a lot of things related to the female reproductive system. My sympathies, might be worth looking into some of those cloth liners that can be washed to save a bit of money in the long run and add to comfort down there.

Oldraver · 11/10/2019 10:13

Since menopause I had had a huge increase in dishcharge, like you all tests come back normal. It's not something I had ever really had before so the increase for me is unusual.

I've taken to wearing two pairs of pants or a fabric liner as I dont like disposables.

I dont overwash either but the problem with excess discharge is that it does make you sticky or sometimes dries and welds your fanny to your pants which does need to be washed off.

AnyMinuteNow · 11/10/2019 10:37

The washing thing is because a cycle gets set up of increased washing needed to clean properly, which removes good bacteria, so in response more liquid is produced.

Its pretty common.

Yes, also, bodies change and it could entirely be some hormonal cause.

All I know is its notoriously difficult to get sorted with women's issues. I think it's something crazy like an average of 8 years to get something as bad as an endo dx, according to recent figures.

It can mean more than hormonal changes though so its worth getting it properly checked. Anything in the womb would increase discharge. Maybe scans could check.

In the meantime, there are loads of comfy cloth liners on the market that will help, rather than all those uncomfortable single use plastic ones.

Soggyundercarriage · 11/10/2019 17:12

Oldraver... I'm at work and your comment had me crying with laughter!!
I've got endo so not sure if that's anything to do with it.
Will have a look at fabric liners, I'm getting a sort of nappy rash on the inner thigh creases as the liners I'm wearing are rubbing.
Such fun!!

Good Morning..
It's been while since I posted this and the problem is still as bad. Constant wet pants
I'm having to use a barrier cream so I don't get sore. Have been back to the GP and she said maybe the implant is causing it? Anyone experience this?
Googling hasn't helped much, apparently a prolapse can cause excessive discharge but can't find anything about the implant
Replies up thread said about over washing but I guarantee it's not that

"The more you wash it the more it gushes"
What!
You do realise vaginal secretions are produced inside the vagina and most people dont wash inside? Hmm
Washing with harsh soaps/perfumed stuff isnt great but it doesnt cause an increase in normal secretions. Thrush/BV yes
More likely hormonal, a cervical polyp or a cervical erosion OP.
Are your smears up to date ?
Best to ask GP

Fridakahlofan · 05/02/2020 07:14

The same is happening to me since I had LLETZ treatment. I’m hoping it is temporary while it heals...

Soggyundercarriage · 05/02/2020 07:31

Yes all up to date.. smears normal. Swabs normal. Discharge isn't itchy or smelly just tides of the stuff. I just have a soggy chuff Sad

FredaFox · 05/02/2020 07:37

I’ve definitely noticed I’m damper since hitting 40
Smear the lot are fine
I’ve put it down to my body changing
You make a point on the implant, I had to get my last one removed, the hormones were sending me funny, started getting very long periods and they recommended non hormone related contraception, never been quite the same since I came off it but maybe the dampness is also hormone related
