Roast potatoes help!

I have to do a roast in November for 12 and trying to get ahead if the game. Is there anyway I can make roast potatoes in advance and freeze them? Then reheat and finish off in the oven for 20 minutes on the day?

Just buy aldi frozen ones in goose fat, they are nice. I have no tops on how to do your own from frozen though, sorry.

Roasties are the one thing that should be done from fresh. You can peel the spuds and put them in water for a couple of days beforehand. But if you freeze they’ll form a tough skin on the outside and just be grim.

Everything else- red cabbage, parsnips, stuffing, gravy, etc etc can all be made ahead and frozen. But not roast potatoes!!

You can parboil them in advance, but not roast them. Sorry!

The fresh veg part of supermarkets do roast potatoes that just need whacking in the oven, they've been nice when I've had them from tesco I think and usually 3 for 2 so you could buy a load?

You absolutely can peel, chop and par boil them well ahead. Toss roughly and sprinkle with salt then freeze them. Ideally flash freeze them - freeze them spaced out on a tray if you have room - then, once frozen put them in a freezer bag or Tupperware. On the day don't defrost them but tip them into sizzling fat frozen. (Shield your eyes).
I often do this and my roast potatoes are extremely popular! They'll be excellent!
