Children's show from 2000s

Does anybody remember a tv show from about 10 years ago where a child squeezed through a gap at the bottom of their bedroom wall and ended up in a world made up of black and white cardboard cutout scenery?

I don't remember this at all but my 13yo is adamant that she remembers watching it after "Bananas in Pyjamas" and has been searching for it for days.

She desperately wants to prove that she's not dreaming.

The cut out cardboard scenery rings a bell... Were they all cardboard people too?

Whatsnewpussyhat · 09/10/2019 17:20

There was one called cbeebies tales years ago that was a bit like that.

KermitTheFrogIsNotAVegan · 09/10/2019 17:20

Yes, i remember watching that with my DC. Can't remember the name of it though sorry.

DD would've watched it around 2012 but bananas in pyjamas was on around same time/channel

Changestartsnow · 09/10/2019 17:25

It's on the tip of my tounge...

1disneyfanatic · 09/10/2019 17:28

Sounds a bit like pinky dinky doo but that was coloured in??

Hairydilemma · 09/10/2019 17:30

I think you might be thinking of Roy (?) or maybe the character was Roy - I think he was flat, black and white paper and everyone else was real - something like that? In my head he had a Irish accent but I may have made that up...

Hairydilemma · 09/10/2019 17:32

Actually I’m not sure that is the one you’re thinking of - unless I’ve remembered it in reverse and ‘Roy’ was real while the rest of it was cardboard...?!

Changestartsnow · 09/10/2019 17:36

I remember Roy, it was awful, think he was a cartoon.

I get so fixated on trying to remember. I should never have clicked on this thread.

It was a boy wasn't it?

JumpyLiz · 09/10/2019 17:38

Was it Irish?

JumpyLiz · 09/10/2019 17:39

Sorry, I missed Hairydilemmas comment about the Irish accent

StopMockingPeople · 09/10/2019 17:40

DD says she's pretty sure the characters were real and that the trees in the cardboard land were coloured in, just the buildings were black and white.

In cbeebies tales they were narrated fairy tales and the children would go through a mouse hole into a fairy tale world and scenery was cardboard. (Like biggleton)

Changestartsnow · 09/10/2019 17:43

Ok, think I am thinking of something else!

Sorry op.

StopMockingPeople · 09/10/2019 17:44

Not Irish.

Whatsnewpussycat DD is convinced it's the thing you're describing and is frantically trying to find it on google.

I'm trying to cook dinner so will help her later but thank you all so much for the replies.

boringisasboringdoes · 09/10/2019 17:45

It's called tellytales I think

Whatsnewpussyhat · 09/10/2019 17:47

I've tried to google but cant find anything which is odd. It was a bbc own production.

Whatsnewpussyhat · 09/10/2019 18:05

My mistake it was Cartoonito tales! Just google they are all on youtube.

DD watched fireman Sam constantly which was on cartoonito.

MunchMunch · 09/10/2019 18:08

Sounds like the show I asked about on here last year and it was Cartoonito Tales.

Could it be that?

StopMockingPeople · 09/10/2019 18:15

Whatsnewpussyhat Thank you SO much. DD is now extremely happy. It's been driving her mad for a couple of weeks Smile
