I’ve realised that I don’t laugh very much and am becoming quite serious.

I’ve had some health problems recently that get me quite down, but I need to be proactive about making sure there is fun in my life.

So.... any recommendations please for THINGS THAT WILL MAKE ME LAUGH? Obviously I’ll be working on being more sociable and Having Fun with my family, but any suggestions for activities you’ve done that have made you feel Really Good, or films, radio shows.... anything to make life a bit more jolly? It’s a bit like I’ve forgotten how to live.... 🤷‍♀️

My partner & I recently went to Go Ape; I bought him a gift voucher for his birthday. I don't know when I last had such a giggle, and it was exciting, exhilarating and I felt all proud and happy when we finished up. I would highly recommend it, assuming you aren't terrified of heights. Check out their website, they have lots of locations over the UK I believe.

I know it sounds a little silly, but have you went to a playpark recently? I went with my kids last month in the evening when it was quiet and I had a go on all on the things, swings, roundabout, slides. Only about 20-30 mins of playing with the kids but it was certainly enjoyable for us all. Even if you don't have kids, do you have a fiend you could po round to and ask "if they are coming out to play" and just head round the park Grin

Other suggestions;
*Swimming/waterparks
*Trampolining parks (my kids love these but I no longer have the bladder control required, sadly!)
*An evening at the ten pin bowling, with some arcade games and some games of pool thrown in also
*A hill walk in the pouring rain. I always enjoy getting mucky. A soggy picnic, sore legs from some good exercise and usually an enjoyable conversation with a friend
*Melt some marshmallows in the garden over a little fire
*Find a nice spot and do some star gazing. I could spend hours doing this
*A long drive, loud music, car snacks and no destination

If you can get your hands on something inflatable, like a pool toy, blow-up chair, or even an exercise ball - pop it! Just take something sharp and poke it full of holes. It's a mix of the naughtiness and the squeezing of air out of the toy that makes it really fun. You should give it a try it's a good laugh.

Have you watched The Good Place on Netflix? Always cheers me up :)

Thank you - am intrigued by the popping of inflatables! Lots to try out here.

@lostonadustyrock if you find it interesting give it a go, do you have anything inflatable in the house you can get your hands on?

How about a couple of inflatable sumo suits and challenge your family to an afternoon wrestle to find the champion?

How old are your dcs? Mine love chasing games so we have fun with those. I’ll chase them for a variety of reasons. The shrieking as they run up the stairs to escape is particularly amusing.
Pillow fights are good.

Watch silly YouTube stuff.

Play one of those games consoles dancing games that you have to follow. Or just get them off YouTube and follow the moves.

Some radio 4 is very funny. Look on iplayer.
