Teddies in bedroom aged 38

Toddlerteaplease · 09/10/2019 12:23

Still got a few soft toys and cabbage patch kids in my bedroom. But now I'm almost 38 I feel like I should get rid of them. But really don't want too. Not sure where else to put them. Any ideas?

Spare room?

TulipsTwoLips · 09/10/2019 12:36

Box in a cupboard?

fromthefloorboardsup · 09/10/2019 12:44

I have a box of ones I keep for sentimental reasons under my bed

Cosmos45 · 09/10/2019 12:56

erm.. I'm nearly 50 and have 26 on my bed - they all have names, personalities and their own voices....................... (I'll get my coat).

spiderlight · 09/10/2019 13:12

I'm 47 and I don't have any teddies in my bedroom.....but only because my dog has systematically brought them all downstairs this morning!

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 09/10/2019 13:14

I am nearing sixty and my teddy sits next to my bed guarding my charger cables against the cat.
DH's bear sits in his office watching him work.
Some older ones are collected on a shelf covered by a glass door (with some moth repellant).
And like Cosmos45'bears they all are individuals (DH's teddy is head of the great bear council.)

55

I have my first ever on one bed post, Kermit the frog hanging off the other (belonged to a cousin who died young) and a gorgeous shaggy type one my mother gave me after my miscarriage.

If you met me, I am the most practical no nonsense person ever, but we have history.

TheQueef · 09/10/2019 13:20

I'm never getting rid of mine.
They are my secret sanctuary.
Also they are the most reliable thing to have ever entered my boudoir Grin
I made a swing out of broom handles and rope, they hang up on the ceiling until I want a cuddle.

Griefmonster · 09/10/2019 13:48

This is funny as my childhood favourite bear has made his way back to my bedroom lately following some really stressful, upsetting times. He just sits there. And I was wondering if it was a bit wired to do this but have decided it is a comfort and a link with a part of my childhood that was happy. That's enough for now to "allow" me to keep him there without feeling like a womanchild!

Toddlerteaplease · 09/10/2019 15:18

Thankyou! You've made me feel less childish about having them there! When my sister went travelling for 6 moths years ago, I had her teddy on my bed every night while she was away.

Decade older than you and ‘Ted’ sits on my bed (& comes to bed with me when I’m
In my own). I’d get rid of DH before Ted and he knows it! 🤣

Ted has many childhood friends but they hang out (mostly) in the spare room.

ImTheCaddy · 09/10/2019 15:27

I'm 45 and currently have two on my bed and they often get a cuddle 🙈

DD likes me to have at least one!

My friend is a high ranking NHS consultant and doesn't like to sleep without hers!

TheQueef · 09/10/2019 15:29

I'm a mardy, grumpy, miserable old git in real life but if I need them I get them all down in the bed with me.
You wouldn't guess by knowing me Grin

adaline · 09/10/2019 15:33

I'm 30 and still have a teddy bear in bed with me!

Nottobesoldseparately · 09/10/2019 15:47

Most of my childhood ones are still at my parents house.

But I have a couple in the spare room(which my niece likes to cuddle) and the one I bought on our honeymoon a few years ago on the shelf next to my bed.

Not getting rid ever!

Coffeelady99 · 09/10/2019 15:52

I have a few and they make me feel very comforted when I’m feeling anxious. My ds also bought me a few over the years for mother’s day. I often go to bed with one under my arm, it’s very calming.

bengalcat · 09/10/2019 15:53

Mid 50’s still got mine and a large eeyore
