Flower delivery

keeganface · 09/10/2019 08:42

I live about 1hr 30mins away from my mum and won't be seeing her on her birthday. I would love to send her some flowers.

Can anyone recommend a flower delivery company? Preferably a bouquet rather than cut flowers in a box.

Maybe M&S flowers?

I haven't heard good things about Next flowers.

keeganface · 09/10/2019 13:35

Thank you. I was looking at Next flowers so that's good to know

My Mum recommends Freddie's Flowers www.freddiesflowers.com/

Bloom and wild are good and they go through the letterbox. I got my mum some and she said they were still blooming after 2 weeks.

BuffaloCauliflower · 09/10/2019 13:40

I know you’ve said not in a box, but I’ve always found Bloom and Wild flowers miles better than anything I’ve ordered via Interflora

squeaver · 09/10/2019 13:47

I often send my mum flowers.

M&S are generally good for cut flowers but shit for plants.

I've had two very bad experiences with John Lewis.

I tried Bloom and Wild once and I thought they were fine but my Mum was NOT impressed with them arriving in a box (and told me so...!)

I have friends who get regular Freddie's Flowers deliveries and they always seem lovely but I wouldn't use for my mum for above box-hating reasons.

I've actually reverted to Interflora and they've always been good but you are in the hands of how good the local florist is.

jessicama · 09/10/2019 13:48

I agree about Bloom and Wild - and they always have great offers on!

Saucery · 09/10/2019 13:49

M& S have been consistently good for us.
Avoid Next.

MoaningMyrtle96 · 09/10/2019 13:54

I've always used Bloom & Wild. They do come in a box but they really are the best. So fresh and last 3 weeks!

Orangecake123 · 09/10/2019 14:59

If you do decide to use bloom and wild you can get £10 off and so do I off my next order.

Bloom and Wild all the way. They are excellent.

TooTrueToBeGood · 09/10/2019 15:07

Why not just google for a local florist? They pretty much all deliver and are likely to be cheaper, more bespoke and fresher than any postal-type service.

VenusClapTrap · 09/10/2019 15:46

Yes google a local florist.

Hadalifeonce · 09/10/2019 16:21

I always contact s local florist when sending flowers. Never been disappointed yet. Interflora have sent some rubbish arrangements in the past.

autumnautumn · 09/10/2019 16:22

Appleyard flowers are amazing in my opinion Smile

frogsbreath · 09/10/2019 16:32

Google a florist local to your mum, or look on Facebook. You can call them and order over the phone and get something much nicer and for better value than with the online services. On Facebook they will often have typical arrangements and prices too.

WindFlower92 · 09/10/2019 16:35

Another one for Bloom and Wild! Nothing wrong with the box, fresh and beautiful!

greenlavender · 09/10/2019 16:37

Bloom and Wild are brilliant. I would never use anyone else. Inter flora, Next, M&S, John Lewis can all be patchy.

Redglitter · 09/10/2019 16:39

The best flowers in my experience are ones from a local florist. You get more for your money and specify colours/flowers etc.

Hefzi · 09/10/2019 16:45

A year's subscription to Bloom and Wild for my mum was the worst money I ever spent - four out of the deliveries were seriously substandard (broken and/or dead flowers included) and it's just not acceptable to have to keep ringing up and nagging a company when they aren't keeping their side of the bargain. Their flowers don't last that long compared to other companies either.

Appleyard do gorgeous flowers, but again, you only get 4-5 days out of them.

Interflora are consistent if expensive.

Recently used eflorist for the first time - flowers lasted a fortnight (and are still going strong) and recipient has raved about them. And I got cashback from Quidco Grin

I send flowers three or four times a month, year in and year out: if you can't find a local florist (often not possible rurally) I really recommend eflorist based on recent experiences.

Hefzi · 09/10/2019 16:46

(And I'm saying this despite my Interflora delivery pass too Grin)

Pancakeflipper · 09/10/2019 16:48

We didn't have a good experience with Bloom and Wild. Flowers sent to my mum were dead in 4 days. Disappointing, had read good reviews on here.

PalindromicUser · 09/10/2019 16:57

Never been disappointed with M&S.

Avoid Next at all costs.

Toddlerteaplease · 09/10/2019 17:46

M&S or bloom and wild.
