Vegetarian food frequently out of stock

Has anyone else noticed how frequently vegetarian food is out of stock lately?
Especially things like chilled quorn fake meat type of thing.

@MyKingdomForBrie have you tried the Gregg's vegan sausage rolls? They're my lunch break guilty treat. Very salty though, don't give them to the DC (unless you have a fruit shoot to wash the salt down, obv!)

My Sainsbury's has a big offer on Quorn and the like at the moment, the freezers seem to be overflowing. No idea about hot dogs, though. Wonder if it's regional?

Never had an issue here but only occasionally buy quorn, I tend to cook from scratch using beans etc

Exactly. Nothing wrong with wanting fake meat. It's easy for recipes and substitution. Also why not eat this instead of real meat. One causes no harm, one causes pain and death.

Our Tesco has a new big chilled section of ‘plant based food’ with rather nice things like ‘meat’
Balls for want of a better word, made from pea protein. I think they probably got low stock to test the water and the shelves got cleared very quickly. Funny enough I was trying to get a repeat of something for my mum and that had sold out so I took a pic to show her how empty the shelves were which I’ve attached here. All the products have ‘new’ next to them too.

And as an aside does anyone know which supermarkets still sell quorn frozen Italian meatballs. Can’t find any and been looking for weeks now.

Might be a regional thing. I've had no problem getting quorn products or soya mince in Birmingham.

The quorn and veggie section at asda was very full at asda on monday

Other freezer compartments were completely empty though
