Organisation for disorganised people.

I wanted to start a thread to ask for organisation tips and to share the things that help me stay on track in life.

The things I used to help with organisation are....

•Set clocks 5-10 minutes fast (because I’ve always struggled with being on time for things) so this helps me and gets me hurrying.

•Prepare any needed packed lunches the night before and put in fridge.

•Have a little unit with 3 draws where every evening I iron and put mine and DCs shoes and clothes for the next day plus any homework and books ect they need and any letters I need to deal with/post ect.

•Keep a notebook with all money coming in and out month by month (am 2 months payments away from being debt free using this and hoping to start building some savings as of next year.)

•Meal plan every week and have a set food shopping day and keep a whiteboard meal planner up with the meals we will have during the week.

•Keep on top of cleaning every day while tea is cooking (DC permitting) and twice a year have a de-clutter (currently doing the biggest one to date after deciding to minimise all the physical and emotional crap I’ve held onto over the years).

These are the main ones I can think of that really help me.

Looking forward to some more tips and ideas being shared!

Following with interest but I think the key to organisation for me is routine.
Things that I've found helpful are...
Doing clothes bundles for the week for DC on a Sunday night.
Keep spare things in the car like shopping bag, tights, coffee cup, tenner, phone charger, gloves, pen etc.
Get birthday cards and presents sorted about a month in advance.

I really need some more ideas as I am hopelessly disorganised at times. I went shopping without my debit card yet again as I'd changed handbags for a night out. I guess I need a spare cash card/ payment method.

I need to deal with admin stuff much quicker as it gets missed/ forgotten too often...

I also need routine or I really struggle.
I like the idea of the clothes bundles but I find ironing just the evening before for the next day less tedious and time consuming (although I’m then ironing daily Hmm)
I don’t drive but great tips! I have to have a big bag as I pretty much carry all these things plus more around with me at all times!
I am the same. I get comments on how well organised I am from people but they have no idea how hard it is to keep myself organised! I literally struggle to cope if things get all messy and out of sync.
My youngest DC has additional needs, his diagnosis is ADHD with ASD traits and some other bits and I’m pretty certain (as are a few others) that my eldest is on the spectrum too.
I’m a bit.... odd? Don’t know how else to put it and struggle with anxiety but it wouldn’t surprise me if I also was somewhere in the lower end of the spectrum and that’s ok, it would explain why I struggle and need routine!
Do you have Apple Pay? I won’t use it myself but I know a few people who do and it might help with the cash card situation.
Paperwork wise I put everything I need to deal with but don’t have time for in my draw for the next day, it really helps! It’s definitely time to go through my folders again soon though and shred what’s no longer needed. I have a pile that’s built up that needs filing!
