Raised liver GGT

Had some blood tests done as I've been feeling absolutely exhausted lately. I am yawning my head off throughout the day..I don't always sleep well but even 7-8hrs good sleep I wake feeling like I need more.

I've been referred to neurology for an issue with numbness with my arms and legs.

Anyway, all my bloods came back fine with the exception of the GGT which is raised..I have to retest in 2 weeks. I didn't see a GP so no one to ask about why this might be.

I don't drink alcohol if that helps..I am about 4 stone overweight.

These were some of my symptoms when I was diagnosed with Coeliac. My liver levels returned to normal after I’d been following a coeliac diet for a few months, I had the numb arms and legs too, that was because I could absorb b12 apparently. I was also exhausted, permanently!

Not much help for you, as your GP must suspect something else as you’ve been referred to neuro, but a bump for the thread nevertheless!

My neuro referral came after I'd been through orthopedics for my shoulder and the arm. Thanks for the info though as certainly something to bear in mind.

Sounds like diabetes causing Peripheral neuropathy.

My b12 levels are fine apparently.

I've also been tested for diabetes and do not have it.

Sorry I read the blood test as GTT. Some reasons why GGT levels are elevated are located on this website.
