Books to help explain death to children

A close relative has passed away unexpectedly and I need to explain it to my 8 year old son. Ideally the book would also include the funeral stuff as well.

Sorry for your loss.

May not be appropriate as isn't a book, but a useful resource recommendation which may help your son:

Very sensitively done, and reassuring.

Aimed at 7-12ish age range, so probably ideal.

If you ask at your local library they should be able to get you some. They're more likely to be 'realistic' and cover more detail than a book like Badger's parting gifts/Goodbye Mog/Waterbugs and dragonflies, which are all good books that help children to deal with the emotional side, but maybe not so much the 'talking them through the physical processes' thing.
