We recently hired an old villa in Spain. It was a large villa with 4 bedrooms downstairs and large bedroom upstairs. I agreed to stay downstairs with all of the children in case my toddler needed me during the night. On the first night I couldn’t sleep. I constantly heard footprints on the tiled staircase going upstairs. Initially I thought it was my friends children seeking out their parents, but every time I looked there was no one there. I eventually convinced myself it was just a noise from the air con. I told my friends the next morning what I’d experienced saying it must have been the air con. Their faces dropped and they told me they too heard the footsteps. I heard them on and off for the remainder of the holiday. One night just as I was falling asleep I felt someone tugging my bed sheets off my bed. There was no one there but it was a definite downwards tug!! I didn’t spend too much time on my own at night time the whole holiday 😊

Beaumaris jail in Anglesey went on a haunted wales night, lots of stuff

in the yard saw a small dog run round a corner there was no way a dog could have got in, (apparently belonged to a jailer 100 years ago)

in the treadmill room felt someone tickling my ear
same person followed me all night and during renactment of hanging last walk kept pushing me to one side, ( apparently this on is a young child who attaches himself to someone who is a mom )

in the nursery i picked up an image that was different to everyone else, i got the matron not the normal resi ghost

in another room i knocked on some glass someone knocked back
in the corridor in the dark i heard footsteps and a key jangling in a lock

in the chapel i saw a grey shadow working its way round the room

then in the morning at daylight i went to the loo before going back to my friends house and it was like the whole place had gone to sleep, the atmosphere was totally different and at peace

how could a young child reach an adults ear to tickle it though?

@PulyaSochsup I had the same experience at Whitby Abbey one Easter Sunday. I wasnt the only one which heard it my parents and sister did too. We stayed up there for two hours listening. It wasnt scary it was so beautiful. I've never heard it since and I not a believer in these things.

@CakeNinja I thought that from just reading about portmeirion, I came across it when looking for places to visit on our holiday and immediately ruled it out. I just knew I’d hate it.

The German underground hospital on Jersey was one of the creepiest places I've been to. I visited it about 35 years ago and I've never forgotten the feeling of unease I had.

Mrs that place used to give me the willies as a child too! Every summer we had to visit

Oh I love this stuff.
My brother died when I was a teenager, I fell asleep and dreamed he was in our child hood garden with our old dogs that had passed, saying how much he will miss us all and I guess in my dream I had forgot/not excepted he’d died, so couldn’t understand it.
Randomly he was wearing a woman’s dressing down with pink and mint green flecks on it.
A few days later I was telling his girlfriend, described the dressing gown and she went white, got up and came back to the kitchen with her dressing gown with pink and mint green flecks. He had been wearing her dressing gown. I had never seen it before.

I stayed in the Congress hotel in Chicago. I felt so uncomfortable the whole time I was there, the room felt ok but the lifts and corridors were so creepy. We were in the middle of a huge busy city but in the corridors it felt like you were suspended in a different time, I can't really explain it. I was glad when we left and I later found out it's renowned for being haunted!

portmeirion is a really weird place.
I didn’t pick up anything untoward on my visit...but I couldn’t understand why anyone would want to stay in the hotel there. I bet it could be really creepy when the day visitors have gone.

The old house behind me has spooky things going on
It was built over a 100 years ago as a private family home.
Many years late it was bought by a firm of architects and my exh was friendly with the boss.
He had the garden flat and he said lights would switch on and off, he’d hear footsteps on the stairs, taps would turn on.

Well our modern bungalow was built in the grounds of this house. My ex was very psychic.
He’d often fall asleep on the sofa at the back of the bungalow. One time he woke to see lots of people in old fashioned dress all lined up in our lounge.
I did some research and found that the house owners liked to hold garden parties for charity. I think. He woke at the exact time those people were posing for a group photo
He saw children and a dog many times floating around our home. Again all in period dress
My daughter used to feel there was something in her room. Her little white cat used to growl in one corner of it . I got a medium friend to call. He said it was an old man who had stopped by to listen to her music and he released him to the light.
She’s had several encounters
Several prophetic dreams where she’d dreamt a death which happened within about a year of the dream.
I’ve lived in that bungalow for over 40 years and never picked anything up.

Delville Wood, which is where the S Africans fought a battle during WW1.

We were on a history trip - the kids had run off to the shop and info boards on site, and I was walking more slowly across the wood, along one of the rides. Suddenly, all the hairs on the back of my neck stood up, and I could almost feel someone taking aim at the spot between my shoulder blades. The kids were very impressed that Miss could haul her arse that fast into the shop!

I have never felt anything like it before or since.

We used to holiday in Portmeirion along with family friends. Really odd place. The changing rooms at the pool were terrifying. The woods are sinister too. Never liked going there
