Would this affect the efficacy of the pill?

I have already asked the GP and they said it would ‘be fine’ but I’m worried
I have regular ‘periods’ on the POP so that worried me anyway.

I take my pill about 730 am each day and on the day I’m worried about I had an allergic reaction and vomited twice about 1 hour after taking it (prob 1hr 15 mins if I’m being exact)
I also had 1 bout of diarrhoea before the antihistamine started working.

I’m worried about this but the go said it’s fine and also as I was bleeding that day (was day 8 of the ‘cycle’ but she said it’s not a real cycle as I’m on contraception).

I took her word for it but it’s been bugging me. It was only about a week ago

Chances are everything is fine. The tablets dissolve and are absorbed into your system really quickly.

I first went on the pill many years ago, 3 months before getting married, and wasn't well within a week or two after getting married, we definitely weren't ready for a baby then. I was told that unless you are sick within minutes of taking the tablet the chances are it has been absorbed.

You might want to keep a few condoms handy in case something like this happens again, just to put your mind at rest. They probably won't be necessary but it is worth doubling up on contraception if there is a concern one method might fail. Or, if you can see you have vomited a pill up then take the last one in the packet (so your days are still correct) once you have stopped vomiting, as long as it is within the time limit on the instructions you should be covered.

Also, if it was a week ago it is too late to do anything about it now!

(I was on the pill for most of over 23 years of marriage, except when having babies, and it is pretty reliable. Have had a copper coil for 3 or 4 months now and it takes away the worry of the effects of illness or missing a tablet etc. I think it is great, but not everyone does, it is worth considering it though.)

It would surely affect it (%) wise but no contraceptive pill is 100% effective anyway. The NHS own website states 'typical' use (aka non perfect) puts it at around 91% efficacy.

Your GP I suppose is somewhat right to say you 'should' be fine because statistically the chances are low but not correct to have said there is no difference (it depends on their exact wording really, and what type of pill you are on) NHS states this re: vomiting after the pill, mine says in the pill packaging the same.

Have you had sex around the same time and are worried OP, or just curious? You should be protected a week later as normal anyway, if you're back to taking it and no further gastro problems.

I was just anxious as although it was just over an hour after taking it that I vomited I also had diarrhoea so was worrying it’s either been partially vomited back or rushed through my system the other way
The gp said it should be fine so we’ve carried on as normal but its niggling away at me. I do seem to have regular ‘periods’ though so I suppose I just wait and fingers crossed that comes as normal
