Where is my marriage certificate?

Oh wise mners, I have the appt coming up to register for my wedding, yet can only find my passport and decree absolute - my old marriage cert is nowhere to be found 😩

Any ideas...?

I'll give them a ring and see if they definitely need it then - it was them who asked for it

Tbh I don't fully understand why a registry office needs proof of documentation that they already have (born and married in the same area as this marriage will be) anyway; not very environmentally friendly to print stuff off willy nilly!!

They may not know you were born and married in the same area?
The records are not linked. Tell them that and they may look at their records.

Will do when I speak to them, fingers crossed that does help as DP is waiting for her birth certificate (also same area) to come back from somewhere too!!

You send it off when you get divorced and they don't send it back...
