Yes. 6 weeks ago. Whereabouts in the country are you?

SilverChime · 27/09/2019 23:44

I want this done when I can afford it. It’s ruining my life. I’m a bit afraid of having such major surgery when I don’t technically need it though.

Almost 3 kgs. East Grinstead, The McIndoe Centre. I'd definitely recommend them.

Lillygolightly · 28/09/2019 00:09

Dr Ricardo Frati

How bad is it? My tummy was absolutely awful for years after pregnancy and c-section. Especially on the right side where my son settled for the later months of pregnancy. I'd also had two surgical procedures on my tummy in the months before getting pregnant and the scarring from them is awful as they were stretched out before the healed. I fully accepted that surgery was the only way it could be fixed yet knew I'd never have such surgery for a cosmetic reason.

6 years on I took up skating and after 8 month my tummy is unrecognisable. This wasn't something I ever envisioned happening but in retrospect I'm actually really fucking angry that women are taught to accept things about their bodies that are changeable. I'm not saying my stomach looks great, there is still visible damage, but I now fully envision being happy in a bikini next year. I have visible upper abs and the pooch is gone on the left and shrinking on the right.

A lot of what I thought was excess skin was subcutaneous fat while the larger ab muscles I'm growing are filling out the excess skin that I do have. I'm not sure how much better it's going to get but it's slowly but surely improving, so I figure that by the end of the year it should look better again. But as it is, the change has been so utterly profound it's amazing and it's had a huge affect on how I view the part of my body that I was in a constant state of 'accepting.'
