Universal credits and nursery meals

Wondering if nursery meals and snack costs count as childcare costs. Currently getting some universal credits and 3 year old is at nursery for the free hours but costing me close to £15 a week. Cant find anything specific about what qualities as childcare cost.

Submit the invoice and see what they say. Mine always used to get included in my tax credits payment and it's just been built in to the cost since I've been on UC so they've paid it all. Not sure if they kick up if it's separated out though

You’ll need an invoice for UC, ask the nursery to provide one.

Invoice needs to say you’ve paid in full though or an itemised receipt.

Your child may be entitled to Pupil Premium. The nursery will apply for you. This covers lunches

They absolutely should be able to give you an invoice or at least a receipt. My son's childcare don't automatically provide them and take ages when I ask so I have been very naughty once or twice and just used a 'paid' stamp from work before I scanned the invoice in. Pretty sure I'd get in big trouble if it was found out so definitely NOT suggesting you do that!

My daughter is at nursery on the 30 free hours but I have to pay for her meals.
