What can I do I'm in absolute agony I'm 25 weeks pregnant tried to make a pasty in the oven, took it out bere handed like the twat I am and I've dropped it full pelt on my foot. The whole filling landed on the top of my foot I couldn't wipe it off in time and it's blistered my foot, the pain is a 10 I've taken paracetamol I don't think I can take anything else for it. I don't know what the hell to do it is pure agony. I don't even know why I'm posting it's just so sore

Run cold water over it for at least 20 minutes

stayathomegardener · 25/09/2019 23:32

After 20 minutes of cooling it I would then head to a and e.

Foot in cold water, no ice directly on it

Ring 111 for advice

How big is the burn? Might need medical attention.

BigStripeyBastard · 25/09/2019 23:42

Wrap it in cling film. Stops the air getting to it. It'll lessen the pain. Get it seen to tomorrow.

SunshineAngel · 25/09/2019 23:44

Do you have a bath? If it was me, I'd sit on the edge of the bath, running it under the cold tap. Or just get a bowl full of cold water and submerge your foot for as long as possible. Hope it feels better soon :(.

MrsMozartMkII · 25/09/2019 23:46

What size is the burn?

Measure it then call 111. There is a size over which medic might want to see you, but I can't remember what it is.

TwattingDog · 25/09/2019 23:46

Stick your foot under a slow running tap - in the bath or in the shower (direct the flow above the burn rather than on the burn so it runs over the top of the wound).

NHS guidance says that if a burn blisters, you should seek medical advice. Being pregnant, you obviously want to be extra careful about infection, and they will be able to help you with your pain relief options.

TwattingDog · 25/09/2019 23:48

Go to a hospital accident and emergency (A&E) department for:

  • large or deep burns bigger than the affected person's hand
  • burns of any size that cause white or charred skin burns on the face, hands, arms, feet, legs or genitals that cause blisters
  • all chemical and electrical burns

And a huge YES to cling film. Works wonders for keeping wounds clean, but I wouldn't leave it overnight if you can avoid it.

Hi sorry I was being a drama queen when I read back it stopped hurting about half hour after I wrote the post! I do have some very nasty blisters on my foot but I'm fine and they are healing I think. Thanks everyone Grin
