In a moment of frustration, when DC had come home with half their coat hood hanging off AGAIN, yesterday I sent feedback to a well known manufacturer of expensive children's clothing, asking why the coat hood was poppered on, when it was an absolute nightmare because it unpopped every time the child puts on their school bag. This meant the hood got lost on the floor at school and/or the child got wet.
The reply? Because otherwise the hood is a danger to children due to the strangling risk.
Ummmm...really? Is this a thing? This is a coat for children age up to 12 (years). If hoods are so inherently dangerous should I be fearing the hooded dressing gown?! Is a cagoule a secret death trap? Is this a thing anyone else has heard of, or is it the most ridiculous answer ever?
Have now sewn the hood onto the coat myself so the poppers are no more.
