DD2 started new school and has made friends with celeb chefs daughter. She's coming for dinner and I have not got a clue what to make 😂😂. Fairly competent cook (or at least I think so!!). Suggestions please oh wise mumsnetters x

Just make what you normally make. I wouldn't overthink it. This is a small child. She might be fussy. Maybe the parent cooks plain food at home. Honestly, just cook what your own kids like.

Don't worry about it, just cook what you'd normally do.

It might be that Celeb Chef never cooks for their family anyway, unless they're a single parent.

My brother's ex's mum was a chef (not celeb though!) and in their family it was always the dad who cooked at home, even though apparently he was a terrible cook, as the mum spent all her working time cooking so didn't want to do it at home either.

Fish fingers and chips. Pretty muçh what I cook for every kid who ever visits. Or hot dogs. I'm a shit cook.

I second fish fingers and chips. The friend will either be completely at home with it because that's what she eats at home, or it will be a great novelty for her; a win either way.
(Imagine making a cake if Mary Berry was calling round for a cup of tea...)
