are condor airlines bankrupt? Is it safe to book flights?

I was about to book a flight on condor airlines when I realised it’s in the Thomas cook group and they have filed for bankruptcy in the us and are in talks to stave off equivalent in the U.K. Is it a terrible idea to book the flights? I don’t have travel insurance yet so cant check the policy but it could easily be one of those things that is hard to pin down in the fine print. However if they are selling tickets they must think they can deliver? The problem is there isn’t a great alternative flight, and I’m flying longhaul with my 15mo (on my lap) so something going wrong while on my own with him would be challenging... I can’t find anything clear on google.

Don't book with them. The fact they are still selling tickets is not because they are confidential they can deliver, it's because they are still an active business at this point. Monarch only a couple of years ago had an active website as well. It doesn't need until it ends. The end is near, very near. Don't book, you would be taking a massive risk.

The chances of the government bailing them out is close to zero. Even if someone else gives them £200 million, that's only a temporary solution.

The bankruptcy thing, they have filed for bankruptcy protection in the US, not bankruptcy.

Definitely do not book.
