Do you bring gifts from holiday for nursery staff or cleaner?

We're off to Spain in two weeks for a holiday. First time since DS has been at nursery and since I'm back at work so we now have a cleaner at home. Should I bring something back for holiday for them? I wouldn't have thought so, but don't want to get it wrong as I'm so new to both situations. Any ideas?

No I wouldn't. Christmas yes. Holiday no.

No, I've never done that. I don't think the nursery staff or cleaners have expected it either.

Have a great holiday!

Are they your friends too? If not, no!

No I don’t bother. Cleaners are agency, I don’t even know the names of the individuals but they get a weekly tip. Teachers get Starbucks gift cards for teacher appreciation day, Christmas and when DD moves on to a new class. Holiday presents really aren’t necessary!

I brought my cleaner who we have had for several years a bottle of French wine when we went on holiday to France. She had my 2 adult boys here to clean for and I was not sure they kept place tidy for her to clean so peace offering just in case. I give her a voucher for Xmas and on her birthday. It is worth looking after good cleaners as they are hard to come by. I also offered her use of our French property for a week when we are not there too.

No, but ds could send his nursery friends a post card would go down really well. We always read them out at news time.

Similar to caringcarer I cherish my cleaner, she's an absolute Star.
She says she's going on from me to meet her friends for a drink and a catch-up? I'll give her extra to help fund that.
She's shopping round and about? She'll phone me and ask if there's anything I want brought in.
My parents had a housekeeper who became my 'second mum'
I like to think that I treat my help in a way they'd approve.Smile
