Where can I find baby clothes like this?

Looking for clothes for my first baby (due in 5 weeks) and whilst we know we’re having a boy I am trying to keep the clothes fairly neutral, and I am sick to the back teeth of everything “unisex” being-

  • boring dull colours; everything is grey, beige, brown, mustard, saffron, fudge, or pale “hospital” type shades
  • emblazoned with twee slogans or random animals/animal faces, cartoon characters, cars, dinosaurs etc
  • inexplicably has ears on it

I’ve been looking online at stores like H&M, Next, etc and everything is just a bloody sea of dull! I mean take this jumper or these dungarees for example- both perfectly nice styles but those colours are just so bland, could they not have done them in a nice shade of red or green?

I don’t have an enormous amount of money to spend but I don’t think I’m asking a lot- just somewhere that sells unisex clothes in nice, bright, happy colours, simple patterns, is decent quality and doesn’t cost too much? Does such a place exist?

Sorry that went wrong, had found several links.

Joules. Cam be expensive but have some good sale items which are fairly cheap. Would also second Blade and Rose.

I don’t mind the clothes being “ gendered “ .
My pet hate is wanting to dress little girls like teenagers . Am finding it increasingly harder to find clothes for my tall 6 year old that are age appropriate.
I have started buying from frugi as the clothes are absolutely gorgeous and the colors and prints don’t fade in the wash! Yes more expensive but worth it.
I’ve always shopped in GAP in the sales but nothing in at the moment 😭

Frugi comes to mind, as does Tootsa Macginty. You might like some Bonds stuff too, John Lewis sell it. I cannot understand your dislike for the inexplicable ears though!

Jools Oliver's range for Mothercare is lovely and bright. Gap can be good too.

Sainsburys Tu clothes are quite bright.

Frugi or Kite. Beautiful clothes and good quality too.
There are second hand selling pages on Facebook as they are pricey.

WellTidy · 20/09/2019 15:21

Frugi all the way. Start at newborn and goes up to age 9-10. The fit is generous as they’re cut for cloth nappies, but I used disposables and they were fine for us. I’ve bought masses and masses from them. There are Facebook groups selling second hand.

Gap kids do some lovely things, I never pay full price though as they are always having a sale.
