Where to buy non shit pillows

Countrylifeornot · 19/09/2019 22:31

Please help, I seem to be completely clueless.
Any pillows I buy are shit and flat after less than a year. I don't want to buy feather as I bloody hate birds and waking up to escaped feathers would probably lead to cardiac arrest. So aside from feathers what pillows do I buy and from where?
Thanks in advance

They're all shit. All of them

MagratsDanglyCharms · 19/09/2019 22:34

So far my ikea ones are doing bloody matvellously! Not had them 12 months yet though but so far they are an improvement on previous ones!

MagratsDanglyCharms · 19/09/2019 22:35

I'm sure I read somewhere that we should replace pillows every 6 months however...

Dunlopillo.

They cost a fortune (£50) but are like clouds and last decades.

Countrylifeornot · 19/09/2019 22:50

Thanks fedup. I got excited then but I've a latex allergy, so I probably wouldn't get on with them having looked at the website. Perhaps the key is buy cheap, bin often?

I bought mine when I bought my mattress from bensons. They are now three years old and I've never had better pillows (memory foam). I also bought wool pillows which were hideously expensive and they're lovely too!

thenightsky · 19/09/2019 22:53

Another vote for the Dulopillo rubber ones. Can you put three pillow cases on to protect you from the rubber OP?

BluePheasant · 19/09/2019 22:58

John Lewis. Only about £10 each and lasting well.

SarahBeeney · 19/09/2019 23:35

Have you got a Dunelm near you? They have a good range and some of them are lifetime fluffy I think??

eleventybillion · 19/09/2019 23:38

You need shredded memory foam. A game changer for side sleepers I tell you.

I bought a Mallow pillow. Cost a fortune but best nights sleep ever!

PurpleDaisies · 19/09/2019 23:38

Tk maxx.

Ebonyandivory2 · 19/09/2019 23:53

Another one recommending TK Maxx

JoxerGoesToStuttgart · 19/09/2019 23:55

I have dunlopillos too. Love it. Real game changer for my sleep quality and shoulder/neck pain.

tumpymummy · 20/09/2019 00:01

Dunelm memory foam pillow. About £20. I love mine and have had it apx 18 months so far.

TheBossOfMe · 20/09/2019 00:01

Either buy decent density feather, buy Dunlopillo, or buy cheap and bin often. Any of those options work.

TreacherousPissFlap · 20/09/2019 00:16

I'm a front sleeper and romp through pillows at a great rate of knots. DH always comments that my pillows look "ravaged" Grin He could be using the same pillows five years later as he sleeps like an untroubled nun.

I've tried everything and have resigned myself to a John Lewis feather one underneath and a cheaper flat one on top that I can haul into the required position. I've fancy's BaaVet one for ages but I've heard they smell of sheep, which is not nice.

Keeoe · 20/09/2019 00:24

Second (third and fourth by the looks of things!) Dunlopillo. Nothing comes even remotely close.

SamBeckett · 20/09/2019 08:34

Years ago I made one from left over polystyrene beads from a bean bag I was refilling. The squeaky rustling took a while to get use to but it was sooo comfy.
I also had one with cut up bits of foam out of a old sofa cushion that was very comfy too.
Both very cheap to make .

YahBasic · 20/09/2019 08:38

Ikea and Next have been great, and I am really fussy about pillows.?

Samanabanana · 20/09/2019 08:43

We have the Simba oulast pillows. Pricey but perfect!

Beamur · 20/09/2019 08:46

John Lewis anti allergy on top. Dunlopillow underneath. I can't have feather either.

TheHodgeoftheHedge · 20/09/2019 08:48

I LOVE my Simba pillow. Not cheap but has been worth every penny.

Troels · 20/09/2019 10:21

Julian Charles. Best ones I've ever had.

BarbaraofSeville · 20/09/2019 10:24

We have Ikea memory foam pillows that cost £15 each I think and they're years old and still great.
