Would anywhere take donations of laundry detergent?

I've wasted far too much money on laundry liquids and powders that I can't use due to adverse reactions. Are there any charities or other places in London who'd need donations of this stuff, bearing in mind they've been opened and used? Otherwise I have no idea what to do with it all. There were a couple of brands that I took back to the shop for a refund, but these ones I've left far too late for that.

I’m sure a women’s refuge would bite your hand off.

But how would I go about physically donating them? Don't they keep their location a secret?

There's so much stuff clogging up my cupboard, there must be a way of giving it to someone who needs it but presumably a food bank wouldn't accept anything that's been opened.

If you have a local secondary school they might be pleased to take them if they have a food tech dept

When I donated a load of toiletries to a women's refuge the local (female) vicar got in touch with them for me, and they sent someone to pick them up.
I wouldn't have had a clue how to otherwise.

When I donate to the refuge they always come to me to collect. Our local church takes in things to redistribute as well.

I gave some to an animal rescue, you could ask. Or Freecycle.

Doryhunky · 20/09/2019 22:35

Can you call women’s aid and leave the donation with a volunteer or donate via a local food bank? Or a sure start centre.

My food and would absolutely accept them. We quite often split huge boxes of washing powder between smaller families. Not sure about liquid but it's definitely worth asking

Food bank not food and

OrangeJustice · 20/09/2019 22:36

I messaged our local food bank about opened laundry detergents and they said they gladly accept them.

Our animal rescue gets through tons of the stuff - Celia Hammond Animal Trust in either Canning Town or Lewisham
