Hello.

I'm 26 and smokes since 15 years old. Quit the day I found out I was pregnant and never craved one the entire pregnancy. Didn't have another cig until she was 2 months old. Obviously never in the house and washed my hands face and wore an outside jacket. But that doesn't stop it getting to the baby I know that.

Anyway fast forward 2 years and I'm still smoking and I really really really want to quit I just don't know how.

What is the best thing that worked for you and actually did work? Please don't say willpower alone because I just don't have it. I have a painfully chronic condition and it sort of my crutch even though it's probably worsening it

So wise mumsnetters please please please help me

I'm in the exact same position as you.

I found the smoking cessation service at the GP surgery to be really helpful.
I almost quit for good until we moved house and went self employed. Bit of a stressful time so I'm trying not to give myself a hard time over that.

When the dust has settled I fully plan on going back there. To try again.

They can prescribe either nicotine replacement or alternatively theres a pill you can get that makes cigarettes taste disgusting. I seriously didn't want another one after that.
They will sit you down and talk about how much you smoke and when. Then you make a plan with them. They are so lovely and understanding I thought it was a brilliant service.

There's always vaping as well which you can also get with nicotine in to help you quit.

You will get there. Best advice I can give is to give yourself a break, if you do slip up once or twice don't give yourself a hard time about it and think you've failed. You haven't. It's sooooo hard to give up. You will get there.

Hi
I quit almost 10 months ago using a vape( and at first high nicotine juice)
I puffed frequently at first to quell the nicotine craving and am now on juice with 6mg nicotine
After smoking for 25 years( quitting only when pregnant 3x) I never thought I could do it
I'd advise going to a shop to have a look first and order through a reputable website( lots of fakes otherwise) Highly recommend Grey Haze Good luck It's so worth it

The stop smoking service in my area is fantastic. They prescribed me patches and an inhalator and I have been stopped for 18 days now. I’m good at stopping but rubbish at staying stopped and I find combination therapy more helpful than anything else I have tried. Previously, I had reached between 2 and 4 weeks and I had developed this horrific buzzing sensation in my head which hasn’t come back so far. It’s been 18 days now and my motivation and enjoyment of the quit attempt is still high.

Combination therapy has been the best way for me to quit so far.
